    SF 97 & Arizona DMV

I think if it's a 1 ton pickup, and up, it's considered "Commercial"

    SF 97 & Arizona DMV

There's not a weight fee if you explain that to them ;) I've had to do it every year so far. Maybe getting the GVW changed will help. And as far as I know you don't need Historic Insurance, that just restricts how you can use it. I did have trouble find insurance and end up w/ Progressive...

    M109

We're running 395's (46") and come in at 11'3". We'll be about 12'8" when we put the spare on the roof (rimless)

    Stripping a comm shelter

LOL, no. When we go over passes out here it's the high point on the road going over the mountain range. It's then down hill, around here usually the same amount give or take. So I was crossing three valleys and climbing over the mountains on the other side. All of those climbs were around 2 -...

    Stripping a comm shelter

Thanks for that info. Thought that might be the case. I'm going to be removing things, not destroying things, just for that reason. I have even removed the cable channels from the ceiling and have kept all pieces together. Once I get everything out, and some idea of what it's all worth I'll...

    Stripping a comm shelter

I was watching when he did that. It was the first exciting mod for removing shelters that I had seen. I am going to run some round tube down the sides, being that it won't be in the bed and it's walls will be what rubs first. Seemed right to tie that in w/ lifting legs that I can remove. It will...

    Stripping a comm shelter

It seems to be set up for both 50-60 & 400hz, also has a 28V indicator light. So I'm guessing it puts that out as well as 120v. (picture of the outside) What about the comm unit? I'm going to take the whole unit out of the wall, so it would be complete. That will be my window.

    Stripping a comm shelter

I was looking at the mounts for the mobilizer and thinking of a combined branch pushing bar down the sides and leg units that would use them as mount points, and then I saw this . . . http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?36199-s280-shelter-removal And I said "YES, kinda like that!"

    Stripping a comm shelter

Rayzer, you would ask that ;) Here's the rest of the story, I finally got to pick up my 146 (that makes 7 I've acquired, 3 for Tuff's property, 3 for a friends property, and 1 for me :) Used a dolly that we had made from an old 105. This one and the two that were at my friends place...

    Stripping a comm shelter

Just recently picked up this shelter and I'm in the process of pulling everything out so that I can use it as a live-in shelter. It's a S448 / TSC 60 (V) 1 and it still has some components. Are any of these worth anything? I'm sure the cables are, but anything else?

Help me figure out what this trailer is

Looks like it's in photo 3. Also looks like someone welded plates over and under the pintal to turn it into a ball hitch?

Jeep Seat & Bench for M35

Thanks. I didn't say that fast stop would be planned, or on purpose ;)

Jeep Seat & Bench for M35

I have to ask, what keeps the seat from tipping forward in a, . . . lets say a fast stop?

About to start work on our Deuce

Don't brake down a hill! Put it in a low enough gear and drive it down hill! Counting on Brakes with these trucks is Not the way. When Tuff was first driving the 109 off -road, she did a climb over a ridge ( you know, the kind that you can't see anything down the other side until you tip over...

    My M796 Work Trailer/Camper Build

I'm guessing the M1061 would have the same set up. It seems to be the only other trailer that I've found that shares some things w/ the M796's, like the wheels. Sometimes I have to wonder what it is that has me getting things that are much less common :-/

    bobbing mah deuce

Thanks, but no. The one on the She Beast keeps evolving, and I'm going to cage mine plus some kind of sleeper. Did you cut it, or did you remove it from the lift points? With all that speeded up it seems like you could be out and about next year. But now you'll have to pay to feed your Mech ;)

    bobbing mah deuce

:ditto: I've been waiting for you to get that rig out there so that we could do some trips together, . . . and make fun of you for how long it was taking ;) It'll be interesting to see how much you over-engineer this one

    My M796 Work Trailer/Camper Build

Trailboss - That's excellent! Thank you. It def looks like the air chambers are not the same as what's on the M105 :( Do you know if the MC's are the same, or if this combo is used on any other trailers? I also see the plate that's missing for the rear MC. That shouldn't be a prob, I could have...
