I use a FLIR i5 primarily. I have a team of techs that work in large computer rooms and we normally use them for airflow diagnostics. Pretty cool to use with a truck though, also great for spotting critters in the dark!
Yeah, a quick google search seems to show the Cummins made engines for Dresser for use in Dresser equipment. Seems like a few truck ended up with Dresser branded Cummins engines in them. As such I would suspect that are exactly the same as the Cummins branded engines.
I took a look at some of the regular places, and sure enough they are Dresser tagged. That said, they sure look like Cummins 6cta8.3, in everyway that I can identify. Anyone know the story?
So I took the 923 on it's first long trip down to the Nation's Gun Show in Dulles. Left way early to get in line and be able to take my time in her, as traffic around here is replete with crazy people, so right lane the whole time, running around 50 MPH in 55 MPH zones.
The truck did very...
Glad to hear you managed to keep it under control. I've been somewhat worried about the super singles on my truck. They are the wavy looking types, with a small amount of weather checking. They feel fine on the road, and the CTIS seems to keep the pressure where it should be when I've checked them.
That sounds very, very, very bad. Have you read the -10 on the truck yet? It should never exceed 220F during normal operation.
I would suspect two things:
1. I assume you've checked the level per the TM, if not, it maybe very low.
2. The gauge is faulty.
It's hiding in the back as I recall. The section that deals with specific equipment. Funny enough, the -10 I have doesn't show how or where this really is, it just hints at it, and that you should secure it with the straps.
I read through the DMV section as well, I don't see an easy way to get an in-transit plate either. I'm sure one of the NY guys will posted something up or PM you.
My wife and I will be there for sure. See you on the 5th. We have no military experience, but like I said, we can clean and paint with the best of them! I've done two 5-ton trucks and our last two houses entirely! Looking forward to it!
