    Info on Diesel Fuels

Wow that was good info, thanks pacebm. You said "God bless us all in the last years of the oil age"What is your estimate on how long the oil will flow freely? 5-50-100 years?

    Michelin X 11.00 x 20

I am pretty sure that you would want more narrow rims then hemmt wheels for 11.00's . The stock deuce split ring rim would be better. Also much less weight to get spinning would equal better mileage and better braking IMO I might add that it looks great the way its set up. I wouldnt change it...

    Info on Diesel Fuels

My understanding is that the sulfer was a huge contributor to acid rain. I do remember horror stories of that stuff in the 70's and dont hear much about it now. The lubricity can be replaced as many posts are indicating. I found this interesting. As a farmer, we never used to need to add...

    Cooling System Service

RADIATOR QUESTION-------- once a radiator is taked to a shop and cleaned, is it OK to paint it thoroughly, fins and all. I ask because I got mine back from the shop today for my 5 ton, and the black paint job he did leaves a little to be desired. Does the paint stop it from transfering the heat...

    M817 Dump Truck Project Begins

Good call TVman. Get a known good running engine and swap it out. Then if you dont have to give up your stuck engine as a core, you would have a good source of parts. Mine has those 14.00 tires on it too. 2 of them arent too good though and I got a good deal on some near new 16.00's. So that's...

    Big Annoucement...IT'S A GIRL

Congradulations. I am sure you both are very excited. Our little girl was born on the 5th of July in 09. We theorize that the banging and explosions at the fireworks finale sorta shook her loose.:-D

    M817 Dump Truck Project Begins

Yep. I was pretty sure you did as well from the pics of your truck. You decided to hang on and repair? I think it will be worth it in the end. Esp in the south there is more parts and engines available if I am not mistaken. I had even found one advertised on craigslist in Alabama a few weeks ago...

WW2 Scout Car on Pawn Stars

Interesting opinion on Chum there Preacherboy, but I would have to disagree. I have probably seen every episode and I think Chum is dumb as a box of rocks. Currently as the show is running, he is making the shop money though, because his dumbness is good for ratings. When the show isn't running...

WW2 Scout Car on Pawn Stars

LOL Just saw this last night. You know the owner might not have actually paid $25000.00 fo it and he was using that # to try and pump up the pawnshop guys. If so, it appeared to have no effect. If he really paid that, he should have "called in an expert" first

    M817 Dump Truck Project Begins

This weekend I learned that there is more to pulling a 5 tons radiator then meets the eye. Primarily WEIGHT! It didnt take long for me to figure out that I wasnt just going to manhandle that thing out of the frame and down the ladder. So the cherry picker came to mind. At first I was going to...

    M817 Dump Truck Project Begins

The 6 little jumper hoses appear to have factory crimped on ends like little hydraulic hoses. I think I would rather just order them even tho it will cost more. The duel line would be a good idea probably. Is there a thread about it? I am not familiar with doing it, but I am pretty sure I...

    M817 Dump Truck Project Begins

Armada, thanks for the good words and the tip on the jumper hoses. I went out and looked closely at them. All 6 jumpers have some cracking to them and will be ordered next week along with some other parts. Do you have a favorite 5 ton parts source? Quarkz, Back in 87-88 I attended Motorcycle...
