After several months of procrastinating on this, I finally have taken the bull by the horns as they say, and got going on this. See like nearly everyone else out there, I expect my GL purchase to need filters and fluids, maybe a tire or 2, some spark chasing , a bunch of seals and beaucoup brake...
Looks like another dump truck with the "sat too long syndrome" I currently have mine blasted apart in my shop.
I think it came from the same place yours did. Maybe we need to start a support group. I got the engine loose by
pulling the heads and pan, then making a big wrench that grabs a...
OK I talked to the technician who is going to rework the pump and he said a "short 300" HP is about what you could take it up to on a non turbo 855. I asked and he didnt think a pyrometer would be needed at that level. Soo the M817 will be around 290 if all works out well
So NHC 250 buffs,
I am getting my injectors and pump checked out for my M817 as I rebuild the engine in it. How much can I saftely get the pump set at in say HP terms. 275, 290, more?
Just run offroad untill the red fuel is used up :-D Seriously, if you are concerned about getting fined for it, siphon out
what you can and fill it with over the road fuel. The lil dab that is left in there , I personally would'nt loose any sleep over

I am going to put http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/63394-uses-deuces-8.html on a few business cards and keep them in my wallet. The next time someone asks "What the heck are you going to do with it" I will tell them to go here. Great thread!
Welcome to the site. Cant tell ya if the trade is a good deal or not, but I am among those who question if a deuce is a good daily driver choice. I personally like my Chrysler mini van. To each his own. Ummm could you post a full size version of your avatar pic?
Looks like 2 very nice deuces. I did something like that too. Bought 3 right away and sold 2. Gets you into a cheap deuce if it all works out well. Best of luck and enjoy.
Hello from SEMN. Well this will be a great site to get info for the M1028 and to have a good reason to brush up on those internet skills as well. Lots of data here for the looking. enjoy
Sounds like you got a great buy on that XM211! Have you addressed the issues that you mentioned and got the truck running yet? That will be a nice rig to see up and running. Looking forward to the pics in the future.
Can anybody tell me what the proper method of setting the wheel bearing tighness is? I know it is in a TM but have yet
th DL them. If nessesary I will do so tonight. thanks
Is that the hollow core 3/8" rubber rope tho on e-bay? I bought a roll of it and it works OK but it is a little to big
around. I wound up punching out the 4 holes at the ends to thread it through. Otherwise it works fine and you
get plenty of it for 2 covers I would guess.
As promised, here is my install of this muffler. I am sure its not alot different then MO MV mans and chigofiveos install. I did find it nessesary to do a mod to the lower mirror bracket as seen in the pic. Just a bit more bend where it is bent anyway, then an extension at the end. I used the...
Like the others before me in this thread, sandcobra helped me out bigtime on a truck that I wanted down in Ga. from a preview to loadout time today. Now there is an M817 headed north on a dropdeck bound for Mn. (I hope they kept that heater maintained down there in the motorpool):-) Anyway...
These parts were in the back of my deuce when I picked it up at the base. Are these cucv parts ? If so who wants them and what will you give me? If not, anybody know what they are?
