I've injected comments in blue
A/C/E for B/O & Service Tail lamps A and C are for BO , E is Service (or Tail)
B for LH Signal/stop ( Stop , military do not combine lamps) ( but I'd use this for a civilian app)
D for Ground ( or L, same thing)
F for Reverse lamps. (the amber light won't be very...
If you are using a trailer wiring where the Brake/turn indicators are "combined" us this:
D or L = ground ( white)
E = tail ( brown)
M = LH indicator (yellow) if trailer lamp lense is red ( Euro MV's are amber)
N = RH indicator (green) if trailer lamp lense is red ( Euro MV's are...
I just wired my Sankey trailer for the "flat 4" connector ( in parallel with the NATO plug), and as long as trailer doesn't have electric brakes, all you'll need is the 4 leads. white to ground, brown to tail lamps, and the yellow to left turn/brake, and green to right turn/brake. Just be sure...
I would hardly consider a Jeep with standard locking diffs front and rear as disposable. From the standpoint they could be airlifted into a forward area, yes.
I have been intreged by all the innovations in the Mites. Inboard brakes, 4 wheel independent suspension ( unlike the Mutt's rear swing...
For "newer" owners of LR, 110 were the coiled spring version of the leaf sprung 109s ( wb increased 1")... "Defender" wasn't the name given to them until the end of the 1980's. The 110 ( after the Stage 1 109 ) were introduced before the 90 ( as a side note, only 6 or so 90"wb were made, and...
Gee Andy,
You're not a good judge of sizes.are you ?  First, you think my Supacat is a cute little sucker, now you think the 101 are wide... Actually, the widest point on a 101 is only 72" ( other than the ambulances which have a wider rear body), the 710/12 are only a little over...

It depends on the tailcone that is on your Pinz, whether a US pintle will fit or not. Eariler casted tailcones have only 4 mounting holes, that match only the European standard. Later models have 6 holes that will match the both patterns.
With the fixed lunette, I'd recommend a rotating...
Lifer,
The hull isn't the problem... it's the distance under the handlebars that get to you. Under normal braking, there isn't much problem to lift your leg to hit the brakes without hitting the underside of the handlebars ( tight, but still ok for my 6'!" frame  ).
Now, while turning...
The 4th I got a chance to be in the Sierra Madre parade as part of the Military Vehicle Museum (in south El Monte) group. I was given the priviledge to lead the group (Ii'm still not sure if it was a honor position, or to take the brunt of the water blaster attacks  ) ...

There are reasons for the high differences in Mog prices. Not all Mil Spec Mogs are the same. The Swiss were pretty much the same platform and finish was done by the Swiss, and they took good care of them. The militaries ordered "per their needs", and if you look hard there are later 404s...
Mmmmmmmmm.... next trip calls for swimming it.... wonder how ticked the park rangers would get if I swam it in Legg Lake, in Whittier Narrows, just down from the musuem??
Then, there was the hang glider landing site where I was the other day....does anyone think they'd...
Automotive glass was where I started with 35 years ago. And first off, not all laminated glass are legal for windshields (in the US). Windshields are made of AS1 laminated, and door and backglass can be AS2.The primary difference is the plastic film laminated between the glass. If my memory...
Yesterday, The Supacat got a chance to try a little offroading, and play in some water from the recent rains...?? it never rains in California!??
Though the "puddles weren't deep enough for it to swim, it did allow me to see how it affected the traction, which it didn't...
Afterward, it...
It's been 2 weeks since the Supacat arrive, and last week, after having to buy a new wider trailer :( , took it to the Military Vehicle Museum in South El Monte for a test drive and get a feel for how it drove. After a couple laps around the displays, we took it into the adjacent field to open...
Hello All,
This is a copy of the post to the Pinzgauer, Haflinger and Unimog groups.
This is a chance to see some interesting non US MVs.
Sorry that I've been remiss in keeping everyone informed of this year's Pinz, Haf & Mog Gathering.
As many already may know, it is being held at The AmVet...
The Supacat finally arrived home. :D I was pleasantly surprised that it is everything that the seller represented it as!
The only negative to the whole thing is that my trailer is 78" between fenders, and I'll need to move them out 1" to get the cat onto it ( or drive the cat onto it as is, and...
There were two of these on ebay last month. This one, a MK2A, and a gas powered MK1. From the onset, I knew the MK2A was for me. :D And for So Cal, topless is perfect, and I can make a vinyl top to shade the sun. The MK1 didn't bid up so well, and I ended up on top at the end, but somewhere...
Well Will,
Garfield is green...Are you , under those BDUs?.... no, don't answer that. I DON"T want to know!
Here's couple more ideas for graphics (just green out the background)
