The truck is mine. When the truck came up for sale, I presented the idea to Craig on the buildup as a War Pig for display at the museum and for MV events and parades. Though I could make room at my shop, the room needed for working on it would be a big inconvenience. I saw the potential of...
This last Saturday was a pivitol day, an earnest attempt was made to start the truck from the cab. Initial attempts did nothing, and when checking the power flow with a test light, the engine jumped to life. The light completed the circuit after the auxiliary starter relay. Our thoughts...
I started an album for the truck's arrival in SoCal
I would call it " The Good, the Bad and the Ugly".. but most of it is the 2 later.
Just snapshots of different points I wanted to remind myself to address, or reference for the future
I'll be adding to this album until a new chapter starts...
Well, after 2 months in the waiting, it arrived over the weekend.
After getting to see it in person, it definately needs more body work than can be seen in any of the pics... can't say I'm upset because I had planned for the worse on the cab... and this is still far better than that (...
Well, the truck is on it's way! :jumpin:
Received some pics of it and a bobbed 5T loaded on a flatbed.
I'm not going to say the M1094 is heavy, but speaking to the driver today, he had to cancel picking up 2 motorcycles on the way..... and well, let's say he can't fill his go-juice tanks...
That was what they posted as the trip's cruising speed. In print, I see 55mph in the TM and seen 58mph in other places on the web. The LMTV has a 225HP engine, and the MTV is 290.
Looking back at the pic, the LMTVT w/ the JKU in it is over 10,500lbs gross. The curb weight of the LMTV is just...
Welllllll, it wasn't a complete summersault
I'll add your request for the next photo set
And maybe with a few relays and circuit breakers, Frankenstein's monster will move :)
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted any updates. There are a few more pics in the photobucket link above. Mostly of the undercarriage, and a few of the stuff in the dump bed.
Though I wish it wasn’t, Bikeman was on the nose with the rollover. Pics from underneath shows a bent tierod and a...
Thanks for the pdf. Exactly what I wanted. If Pete doesn't catch this, I'll email it to him.
Hopefully, by the time it makes it 2600 mile trek to it's new home, it'll be able to unload itself.
Though I hadn't mention it before, the truck is going to th American Military Vehicle Museum in...
It's alive
The monster's alive. Pete sent me some pics of my baby up on all 6 , and a vid of it's first grumble:mrgreen:
M1094 LVAD in NC pictures by dsd277 - Photobucket
Next is to get it to move
The truck is in NC, and I'm in Cal, I'm just trying to get a couple of pages for the fuse box so the seller can see if will move. My first post says the manuals are on order. And I had never heard of LOGSA
I got a call today from Pete on my M1094 that he had jumped wires under the cab and got it started . Since most of the fuses are missing, I was hoping to get a pdf of the power distribution power with the ampere and circuit use, so he can see if he can get the monster to move under it’s...
Uncanny resemblance to each other.
At a glance, can you tell which is the Pinzgauer 718, and which is the MTV ?
Hint, the MTV is 6 ft longer and 3x the weight.
Did you read the description?
"All scrap in this lot requires mutilation by the buyer prior to removal"
AHHH, the horror of it all... I wonder if they'd accept painting parts Pink as mutilation ?
Well when I won the truck, I wasn't in any hurry to get it, and was more interested in what kind of build would be practical. With the pic and posts this morning, I'm getting anxious to see it. Though not original, I think the 6x6 War Pig build will be the route (much better than pulling an...
PCRUZ,
Give yourself a raise! Your post and pic are worth 384 cents . 2cents x 192:beer:
That is the first pic of a 6x6 War Pig I’ve seen!
It’s obvious that the War Pigs are bases off M1081s and now confirmed, M1093s
The 6x6 War Pig build really makes it easier, the cab of the M1094 and M1093...
I just saw this thread, the trailer is definately a Mk2 wide track, with mechanical drum brakes. I have a 80 % / 90% complete Sankey field kithen trailer and a Mk3 Sankey. (hydraulic disc brakes)... both are a dream to tow... just the high pintle on the Mk2s put the nose down while towing
