    Seperating cab from body, M1010

Has anyone here seperated the ambulance body from the cab on an M1010? I would like to do as little damage as possible. Other than the obvious of unbolting the body from the frame (done that) it looks like you would just drill out all the rivets that hold the metal retainer for the rubber...

    M1009 recovery

They had a story but its almost unbelievable. Something like; It was in a shop near the River for a transmission rebuild. While it was there there was flooding, the new trans, in the wooden crate, supposedly floated away, and the M1009 was pretty muddied up from the water. So instead of fixing...

    M1009 recovery

Got the $611.00 GSA M1009 today. After wrestling the M1010 on yesterday, it was a pleasant surprise to have the Forest Ranger at this site to let me blow up the tires and push the truck on the trailer with his forklift, see pics. After getting this unit home and looking it over, other than the...

    M1010 Recovery

RE: ick... According to the Forest Ranger who signed my slip, this ambulance was used to keep their M1028s and M1008s running. It was turned in to them in running condition, low mileage, a few years back. The one M1008 at that site had the M1010s yellow hood. You should see the nice M1028 in...

    M1010 Recovery

Picked this M1010 (or what's left of it) up at GSA, $202. WAY better shape than I expected. Loading on trailer only took about 2 1/2 hours, 2 guys, no pulled muscles, no bleeding, no broken tools. The pipe and plywood for sliding helped big time. Thought I'd share the recovery. GSA is a bit...

Recovery question, best way to get her home

U haul car transport trailers seem a bit to light for these trucks, single axle trailer might be scarey on a long trip. I usually rent an 18' tilt bed equipment trailer, bring an electric winch and a spare battery, winch the truck on that way, bring lots of chains, blocks and a come a long...

GSA MD Auction closed M1008, $2950.

Well, maybe the CUCVs in good shape are drying up. Was watching this one in Maryland on GSA, just went for $2950.00! 31QSCI08060005

    Where are all the CUCV's?

Check your state auctions/surplus. While they're usually beat by the time they're released, for example, the state of pa. usually has one or two at each sale. Check the history of Keystone auto auctions, look at past results, a few only brought $300.00!

    Front differential additive?

thanks guys, bottleworks, I did use the GM stuff in the back, but do I need it in the front? I'm thinking I do.

    Front differential additive?

In reading the LO 9-2320-289-12 Lubrication order, it seems like you're to put the additive in the front diff. if its a M1031, am I reading this right? I just put it in the rear diff. of my M1028a1s (M1031s). thanks

Do you have a parts truck M1008? Don't need rears or engine, I know you said you cut up the extra frames.

    Pa/NJ anyone scrapping a M1028 or M1008?

Anyone in the SE Pa. or Jersey area parting out a CUCV pickup with a good frame? All I need is the frame and springs. Might have something to trade. Price? if this is the wrong forum, sorry in advance. thanks
