I just read through the two threads (links) above and have a few comments.
I've pretty much ran the rack in this area. I've installed Builder77s 1970XE 5-Micron filters plus an Amsoil by-pass filter (see the black filter on the firewall), plus a 24 volt Bendix pump that pre-lubes the engine...
Why not have two!
The second, drivers side elbow is for the 1.21 jigawatt flux capacitor.
It freaks out the kid when before leaving McDonalds I lift off the drivers side mushroom and stuf in a few Big Mac wrappers before firing up Rosie.
RE: Re: RE: Dumb Question Of The Year
Thanks for the insight FreightTrain.
"Infector fire" --- I kinda figured it was something like that but didn't have a name for it.
Summer is coming to the Northwoods so yesterday we put the water pump fan back on Rosie. The electric fan works great in...
This will probably qualify for the dumb question of the year award but I'm going to ask it anyway.
Both the engines I've had in my deuce --- the one I took out and the new one I installed last December have had a ticking sound in them that sounds like a lose rocker arm (lose valve adjustment)...
I held off on making this post because I experienced some fuel problems and not knowing the root I didn't want to didn't want to comment until I had everything sorted out.
First --- Mike's (devilman 96) pump works great. It was easy to install and gets the job done. Not only do I recommend the...
RE: Re: RE: Re: Differential Gearing
This is absolutely absurd!
I don't slight AN/GRC-46 for asking --- that's what forums are for but for anyone to suggest that it could be even boarderline OK is absurd.
I've got an M-37 that has a fresh set of 489s and lockers front and rear. I installed...
I fear you may run out of spring capacity with the single axle and standard length bed.
My bobbed deuce is a jatonka truck --- has M105 springs and "sometimes" it looks like it's drooping a bit in the back. It's nothing serious but I question what it would look like with the standard length...
Sorry to ask something so simple but I've looked in all my manuals and can't find a fuse spec for the in-tank fuel pump.
What's the proper fuse amperage?

I agree 100 percent!
Until I installed an electric fan on and removed the water pump fan I had a heck of a time gettng my deuce to warm up enough so the defrosters would work in the winter up here in cold country...
Here is a picture of the back of the cab.
My truck came equiped with the jatonka top and came with a sliding window. I would bet if you ordered a top it would come with the window.
The three bumps on top of the cab are evidently (I'm guessing) for strength. I would have prefered that they...
Here is a picture of the top that John Tennis (Jatonka) supplies.
I've been told they are quieter than the stock steel tops. Since I don't have anything to compare it with I can't say first hand.
It's very well built.
John does good work .

Thanks for the heads-up Rusty. There's a slight possibility I might want to discuss this when summer arrives though currently the Reo I'm winking at supposedly has a fairly fresh rebuilt motor.
Is your take-out engine a Reo or Continental?

Hey miamirex --- congratulations --- that's a nice looking truck.
How about some more pictures and some info as to what the back bed was fabricated from. I like the no running board look BUT how do you plan to get in and
out of it?

Hey John ... You mentioned Reos. Is the above 12 to 14 mpg with a Reo gasser?
I've been lusting to build a Reo gasser and I "think" I've found one that has already been chopped enough that I wouldn't feel overly quilty about bobbing an older "vintage" deuce...
By staying inder 2,400 RPMs I've got over 12 MPG with an LDT-D.
It remains to be seen what the LDS-1A will get --- I haven't driven it much since the installation in Dec.
My weight is pushing 11K with the generator in the back, chains etc.
oldshep --- I think your wheels are the best...
