Hey Barrman --- that was a good story. Thanks for sharing it.
I like my multi but sometimes I long for the quiet and simplicity of a gasser.
I'd like to find a good reo gasser without a winch.
Got any pictures?
Thks,
In an entry early in this post it was stated that the later model "1B" trucks had the side door spare tire mounts.
So did some of the earlier M37s. I've got a completely stock 52 out here that has the door mounted spare tire rack.
RE: Re: a reeeeaeeeealllll dumb question...
I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed but I just don’t understand why anyone would want to swap out their multi for something else.
Parts are cheap, replacement motors are plentiful and they will burn just about anything you can throw at them. They...
I finally got around to calling some of my old rendering plant contacts to see if an individual can purchase small quantities of what is commonly known in the industry as Yellow Grease. I've been thinking about the possibility of buying a five or six hundred gallon military tank trailer and...
PTQ530C:
I think your "civvies" reference was condescending.
Please explain how starting in 2nd gear will destroy the synchros on the 2nd gear mainshaft.
Whether a larger exhaust system is needed or would appreciably help I can not say. When I installed the duals on my truck I also installed an LDS engine therefore there was no bace line comparison.
I've toyed with the propane concept and several months ago did quite a bit of reading and...

I agree with your probe placement (see attached picture) but question why two pyros? As you can see from the picture, I tapped my manifold both front and rear with the intent of installing two probes with a selector toggle switch so I could singularly read both probes with...
Wow ... A guy could make a cool one seater street rod out of that!
Leave the wings off, pull the engine, install a rear mouned V8 and a couiple of axles ....
At the cost of cobalt I'll bet there is enough number six stellite in the engine and wings to fund the project.
Oh well ... back to...
RE: Re: RE: Re: Dual Exhaust For Deuce
Thanks,
Dan hasn't got back to me yet with current prices though I would rather he would post directly to the thread. His Tel Nr is listed earlier in this thread.
It's hard to tell how the duals effected the power because they were installed the same...
Last winter I helped my neighbor replace a broken blade on his windmill. I don’t know exactly how deep the snow was but we backed Rosie right up to the windmill head. We stood on the tail gate and changed the blade.
It was “windy” up there. :-)

Very good point NewMVGuy! I've been into M37s for years but when I purchased my M35 from John Tennis, I'm sure I almost drove John nuts with all my silly questions.
When I found the SS website it was a blessing. Over the past couple of years I also have also frequented the...
I "also" wholeheartedly agree with you David Doyle.
Creating a successful website is a lot like making a baby. They are fun to conceive but he!! to deliver --- not to mention costly.
Somehow I doubt that GL advertising on SS really will increase the price of vehicles. If it does then all of our vehicles will be worth more money --- "A Rising Tide Raises All Boats".
As a taxpayer, I have to say that even with all of GLs faults, I'm glad to see something connected with the...
Looks Good!
The blemish on the back of the cab is something no one would have noticed had you not mentioned it. Not using bondo is noble.
I'd like to build a gasser. Would like to find a good project gasser w/o winch.
Keep up the good work.

That's right. I replaced the radiator fan with a 24 volt 16" electric fan so the engine would build heat in these Minnesota winters. In the summer time it is boarderline as far as cooling capacity but it works well in the winter. With the...
