I played around with it some more, it turns over well by hand, so I would have to guess it's more or less ok on the inside, nothing big broken loose etc. What's the chance I could fire this thing up as it sits? There's no coolant etc, but I could rig a closed loop system with no radiator for a...
Good point guys, it does look pretty decent. I'll see if the guy in Florida wants it, if not I'll hide it away some where. I can keep it dry etc, as you mentioned, it won't stay sealed otherwise. I had considered pressurizing it with air after bolting it back together, that would keep water out...
Excellent points Florida. I've offered it to another member who might need it, it does look quite nice, and would make an excellent conversation piece in the basement. :-D
So I have a wonderful NHC-250 in a can I bought a few weeks back. It currently resides in the back of my M109, but I can't decide what to do with it. I originally thought to scrap it, but curiosity got the best of me and I had to open the can up to see what was inside. I got it open, and the top...
Well, I spent a bit of time troubleshooting, turns out the main battery control switch was bad, or at least one side of it was. Replaced it with a spare, and she's back up and running. Now the stripping and painting begins!
Guys,
It looks like the overvoltage issue is corrected, it appears something on the regulator took a dump and burned up resulting in the crazy overvoltage situation. I'll se if I can get the gauges on and running correctly today.
I've read a few of the related articles , and I have a couple of questions on where to start with some electrical issues on the M814.
I've driven it around a bit, and a few days ago, while making a short trip back I noticed my voltage meter had pegged out. I couldn't get it to go down, and all...
Similar start to my morning, headed down to drop off driveshaft parts at the shop, and past a nice looking M35A3 on a lowboy, I'm guessing it was headed to Wright Patt, perhaps it will be for sale soon :-)
Ok, I've got one of these on order, and a pressure washer sized around the correct level. I'll give it a try on the inside of the bed on my 814, and see how it does. Worse case it will be back to the normal sand blaster. I love the idea of it being a wet job for some reason. I'll post pictures...
I'll third or fourth Dave being a good guy. Indy has stuff from time to time, Wright Patt, and Columbus are close to you as well, so you should be in good shape if anything comes up. Just watch the auctions and bid what you are willing to pay.
Yeah the welder does seem a little to me, but that's what the data tag had on it. I'll see what I can put together with it. Anyone have any idea if the TM can be found around these parts?
Gimpy,
Sorry to hear about the job. The compressor went for $210, the welder went for $715. A good friend of my used one all throughout Vietnam out of the back of a trailer, seems like a handy thing to have. Not sure if I paid too much however, I guess we'll see when I pick it up. The PIF...
