First battery is usually defined as the one connected to the positive lead of the truck. It's the second or rear battery to tap into for 12V stuff.
The dual voltage alternator is rated for max 50 amps output for the 14V side of things. Of that you can plan on 10 amps reserved for the...
In the parts manual, when looking at the diagrams and part numbers, over to the right side of the part number you will see the "description and Usable On Codes. This is where you will find out what models that specific part went on. First though, you need to know what your UOC is. Near the...
seems easier than saying I'm just slow.
Part of the drive was going over Steven's Pass and was only doing about 45mph uphill. Things did start smelling a little warm so was trying not to push it too hard.
Not sure if it's the cable or maybe at the transfer case end of things, as right before it...
Both Eastern and Midwest are wrong, those shafts are only for A0/A1 trucks. Going to a better site like HummerPartsGuy or Genuinehumveeparts (this one is the AM General website) will give you much better info.
Here are for the same part number you linked, showing it's not compatible...
And now for an update, since I finally made it home a few minutes ago.
Just before I left to come home, the speedometer cable decided that it wanted to break as well. Or at least I hope it's just something cable related.
I used a GPS speedometer on my phone to get home, though as it was...
All A2 variants are 12k drivetrain, and all are rated for 10,300 lbs.
What site is it that is showing you this information? Give us some links so we can figure out if/why it's wrong.
If in doubt, look in the parts manual. Every model has a UOC (Usable On Code) that should tell you exactly...
How does the exhaust look when this is happening? No smoke would be lack of fuel, black smoke may be excessive fuel or plugged air intake.
As for the 225, use a laser thermometer to verify, but as long as the fan is kicking on and off then everything is normal. You don't really need to start...
Will post more aafter I get home, but on my way to a camping trip and broke the throttle cable. Fortunately it was directl in front of an auto parts store. Spent an hour looking through cables in stock and nothing close.
They did have a universal throttle cable kit that was too short, but one...
When looking up parts, use the M1097A1, as yours is a 3 speed and should be 10k drivetrain with the 10.5" rotors. Pads are the same for either 10.5" or 12" rotors for A0/A1 and A2 trucks

If it has an overrun clutch, then yes, the alternator will continue to spin for a short time after the engine is shut off.
The 3221 looks like it has different connection ports, and has different ratings than the 3135, so I would say no.
I believe the other regulator for the 200 amp setup is...
When I needed to run new power to the back for my trailer plug, I used a length of hard pex and ran the hot wire through it. The pex fit above the cross braces for the truck bed in the little gaps they have up there (just stick your head up under there and take a look)
Fused power from the...
Don't forget that most of the trucks released went through a rebuild at approx 10 years old, so the drivetrain might be rebuilt from a vehicle that had tens of thousands of miles on it, or from one that sat in the depot for 10 years and never moved.
The tach may have been replaced with one from...
The M1097R1 trucks are rebuilt trucks that started as other models, and can be either A1 or A2 series trucks before the rebuild. All that really matters is if it has a 3 speed transmission, you treat it like an M1097A1 for parts and repairs, and if it has a 4 speed transmission you treat it...
brushes themselves are in excellent shape, and 2 of them are soldered directly to a bar, so a little difficult to replace.
a before picture. I had already freed up some of the brushes. The brush on the top is the position all of them were stuck in when disassembled.
and another angle...
At 2.5 years old, or half a year past the warranty, the winch stopped working. Finally determined it's an internal motor issue, and took it all apart.
Brush holder is rusted from moisture intrusion (so much for being rated as "Waterproof")
brushes themselves are in excellent shape, and 2 of...
A month ago my electric milemarker SEC12 winch I installed on the milemarker hydraulic winch plate stopped working on me, right after I spooled out the line and hooked it up to a vehicle to pull out of a river. Ended up just putting it in 4 low and reversing to drag the SUV up the riverbank...
there is a flange on the exhaust pipe just inside the frame. A good kick or two to the exhaust pipe can shift the pipe forward for a little more clearance if you're worried about it.
Gen 10X2 should be 2 10 amp circuits (they list it as a 20 amp charger). The 5X2 is dual 5 amps (it's what I have in my rig, works awesome for a couple years now)
