If it's in great driving shape and owner can honestly say it's reliable on the road, I'd say drive it. If the history is uncertain I'd either have it hauled or have the numbers of some SS members along your route.

Sounds good. Also see if it had the more powerful LDS multi fuel. That 50 extra horsepower is nice. Radial tires are a bonus too. As mentioned above, 6k isn't bad for a truck that is in great shape.

I just installed some green silicone boots from Eriks Military Surplus on mine and they are strong unless you accidently poke a hole in them. Then they tear like crazy. My opinion is that they need a layer of fabric inside the silicone to reinforce them. It works well in other applications where...
