    M151a2 engine question.

I'm searching for the stock cylinder bore for the Mutt engine. My cylinders are about 3.910 inches at the bottom of the piston stroke. The top of the cylinder is 3.90. I am doing some engine work and trying to see what's what with this particular one. The TM's I've looked at don't have the table...

Cold weather gauge issues or actually overheating?

The moisture in the gauge is from the ambient moisture that was in the gauge when it was sealed at the factory. The gauges are sealed to survive being submerged while fording deep water. Try adding some antifreeze and see if it changes the indicated temperature. Check for any possible coolant...

Anyone have a picture of how the rear axles on a deuce locate to the rocker beams?

The leaf springs are attached to the trunion in the middle (between the axles) but sit free on top of each axle. The dogbones maintain the spacing.

    Changing D to a C TURBO

My C usually peaks at 12 or so but has gotten up to 13 a few times. That's with a LDS.

    New to forum

Welcome from Kansas City, MO. I replaced both of my door latch mechanisms. Remove the outer handle. Remove the panel on the botton, inside of the door. Remove the screws on the inside and edge of the door. Reach up and slide out the old mechanism. Before I installed my new ones I packed them...

    Changing D to a C TURBO

I saw a post once that suggested the C is better for low rpm's and the D is better at high rpm's. I'd be interested to see some scientific data.

Anyone have a picture of how the rear axles on a deuce locate to the rocker beams?

I don't have pics at the moment but there are four dogbones on the right and two on the left. On the right each axle has one for the top and one for the bottom. On the left each axle has one dogbone on the bottom.

    Changing D to a C TURBO

I also like putting mine in 3rd low and letting it coast down a hill with the clutch out. The engine spools up some and the whistle is nice.

    Changing D to a C TURBO

I worked with a guy who drove deuces in Vietnam. He was tone deaf, being unable to hear high pitched noises. It wasn't until I bought my deuce that I started to wonder if his deuce driving didn't cause his tone deafness. I wear hearing protection for any trip except for a short spin around the...

    Changing D to a C TURBO

I do love my C also. There's nothing like being just below the threshold of breaking every window around.

    Changing D to a C TURBO

I know a number of people on the site have said they prefer a D to a C due to not liking the shrill scream. I bet you could find someone who is willing to trade.

2015 KAMO Rally (KS, AR, MO, OK) Oct 2-4 2015

Hopefully my Mutt will be up and running. I'm pretty sure I saw a shot of Swayze's deuce in there.

    Vietnam Deuce bumper-mounted wire cutter?

I can see it being nice on a soft top where the windshield folds down but not on a hard top. That would be one big hunk of metal. I would imagine in the heat a lot of guys would fold down the windshield if possible. I suppose if I had a soft top I'd make one just to be unique.
