thanks for all the imput guys.. i will keep my options open. whatever i do to it is sure to be more quite then my 94 dodge with straight 4 inch from the turbo back,
what is your guy's preference on mufflers. I just got an email from my dad who is taking care of my M1009 while i am gone and said everything is working good except a couple rust holes coming through the muffler. I am thinking i will go with flowmasters 40 series. what are your guys thoughts
the arm off of the front of the buffalo is not so much a crane as it is a finger... on the end it has a probe and a rake for uncovering IED's. and yes it is a massive amount of metal on the front of that thing. and even for how heavy iut is it has a lot of git up and go... cummins power
the black thing in the middle of the rear window is a gun port... the trucks didn't always have a turret up on top. if you look at the front of the bufalo.. there is a small circular ring at the top of the grill... that is an IR camera. i forgot to put that with the pictures... there is always...
the piece that is on the front is for IED. when they head out of the gate it is lowered about rides about an inch off of the ground. it can catch the trip wires and optical sensors on some of the IEDs. what ever helps. some M1114's and M1151's have the same deal on them with coolant lines and a...
i took these pics the other night on my way to the chow hall. I have walked by them it seems a million times in the last 10 months. they take a lick and keep on ticking. some you will see have some minor damage from IEDs.
i was hoping you guys could give me a hand on some info on to locate the following parts for my M1009. i am still over seas for a couple more months but can't wait to start driving my CUCV with it's fresh paint
1. Dash pad. mine has the usual cracks in it and is starting to fall apart.
2...
here are a few pics i took last night of one of the patrols that were lined up outside our motor pool. have no idea why they parked there but good time for a photo op
blackwater is more or less merc's hired by the goverment. they provide secuirty here in theater and do other missions. you don't hear anything about them unless something like when there helicopter got shot down in bagdad a few months back.
here is a truck i ran into the other day. i didn't know which country or force it belonged to until i seen blackwater guys getting out of it. it sounds like it is cat powered, not quite the same turbo sound from the cummins. but it was fast moving..... more get up and go then the M1114's
I am currently stationed in LSA Anaconda and i pulled a case 680l out of DRMO that the airforce turned in with major hydro leaks... two bad o-rings.. the problem lies in that the nsn on the equipment is for a cat backhoe. any leads would be great cause i can't find the damn thing in fed log...
No This is the ASV a totaly different... the rhino is used by the EOD and engineers. this truck has a crew of 3 and can carry and additonal 3 crew members. the turret has a 50 cal and MK19 which is all electronicly controled by the gunner
I will post some pics of the new versions here in the sand box. the cab is of total diffenet design and is made off 2 inch plate, not bolt on armor but an actual armor cab
The turbo engines are a gift from the gods on these true M1114 and the tranny holds well due to the gear ratio changes in the hubs. It is very heavy and you can feel it behind the wheel. Even with all the suspension upgrades the design needs to be improved. Thay are trying to keep the ride...
