The 6.2 primary fuel filter on the early k-5 blazer, as well as the 82 & 83 c (2wd) and K(4wd) 10 though 30 seires is a round spin off mounted on firewall in the same place as the more modern rectangular filter.
The k-5 usually had a th-700 tranny, as did the diesel c & k 10 I have a 82 6.2...
My crew and I drive 4:56 geared CUCVs every work day. They are good for local use only, not interstates. But this is true of most MVs and many older trucks. Compared to a k-30 gas job, you will get twice the mileage. Up around 18 mpg if you drive smooth and keep it under 50 MPH.
Does anyone know anything about a Long Island New York site I've driven past? It is a couple of towns south the Orient Point ferry. As I have always been rushing to make the boat back home, and it looks like private property, I have never investigated. There are several od machines viseble...
Not enough info. I have paid between $1,500 to $9,000 for my 4 cucvs . The best two I have are the ones I paid the lowest and highest for. Hope this helps.
I think we are talking about the device that plugs into the round, multi pinned outlet under our dash boards. A few people who know more than I tell me it is practically useless. Correct me if I am wrong.
RE 1956 4x4.
My understanding is that the stanodyne, though not rocket science, is not something worth figuring out unless you are into it, like TH 400s. There are special tools invoved, ect.
As far as I know they are very similar. The 1028's were set up with a couple of types of bed covers, and have some reinforcements for holding up the cover.
On one level that is too bad, But some of the problems you would have with a truck that has sat too long might be just as bad, but different. If the crew that used this truck maintained it, you may have a good rig,
Don't splice into hydrolic pump. It is already running your steering and brakes. It is easy to put auxillary shiv off harmonic ballencer like many a snow plow truck. If you convert to 12 v you will also have a free drive pully. The gear reduction starters are available in both 12 and 24 v...
I had to replace a flex plate on one of mine when I first bought it. They listed one for H D and diesel and one for regular duty. Its harder to find good parts people willing to look past their computer screen.
Last time I checked, Memphis Equipment had some rebuilts. They were kind of expensive, but likely to be mil spec. Most auto parts stores can get you a rebuilt pump. It is hard to be sure you are getting the heavy duty unless your parts guy is good. My understanding is that there are two pumps...
well I'll admit ignorance . What screw do you turn? I Know there are at least two injector pumps out there and the auto parts stores will often sell you the lower HP rebuild. I have a 1028 that is a dog. I am at least the third owner, so I don't know its history. Has less get up and gets...
If this gets worse, you may need a new ingector pump, The job is a pain , but it is somtehing we all have to do at some point. Make sure replacement pump is mil spec or civ HD.
I have a truck that has duel wheel conversion, including the adapters that convert dana 60 front axel to duel wheel offset rim. This truck has standard 1028 data plate. Was bought as cab and chasis. I was told it was a air force truck. Has similar front helper springs Also has no rear...
I've had similar tranny symtoms.. The first thing I would do is drop pan and change filter. Also clean off magnet inside. If you take it to a shop, go to one that can do a transmission flush, as drainiing does not clean out fluid from torque converter. This ofter does it. A lot of these...
