With the engine kill pulled I used a make shift remote start button on mine hooked to the starter. Use a start button and hook one wire to + and the other to the solenoid where the start button normally hooks up... 2 clips, a button switch and some wire... vala! Set a valve bump it over, set a...
RE: Re: rules of thumb...
HRD...
Yeah I could use a remote with a fan.... But I couldn't dream up good location on the truck that doesn't look like something's butt when its put there though!!! I am trying to hide this stuff as best a possible and trying to make it "look" like it belongs...
Its the same filter as Napa's XD line (40,000 mile filters)... (IMHO)... I think they are pushing the claims a bit but a that is the theory behind synthetics period... Change the filter not the oil.
ah... the advantages of 2 axles vs. 3... lol glad I whacked it up!!! All though I don't know why you could not cross axle to axle corner to corner for the same effect on bogies. At a minimum you could do the front and control at least some of the pitch and roll to the trucks cornering.
You...
I've been thinking about sway bars for the past few weeks... I can do a off road type link which is removable for on /off highway driving... Trying to find a down fall other than having to buy the 1.25 chrome molly tubing and a new die size for my tubing bender...
Should make a hell of a...
RE: no room...
Pusher fans...
CFM would be the # 1 thing... Cant get enough out of one fan for this engine let alone adding the AC to it... need even more air... Im in Florida... running "to cool" would be a dream down here!!! I also have no room in front of the radiator for it... I have a...
Ok I lied... lots to take pictures of... I am just not sure if they are interesting or not.
I cut down my shroud and made a new plate for the 3 10" fans... 1250 CFM each X 3 = 3750... Should be plenty even with the AC shoved in front of the Rad... I also re soldered most of the thing over...
One will lock up in any gear when the trans psi drops past a certain point. The other goes on the 4th port and only locks when the 4th is pressurized. Stock GM's were set up for 4th lock up only when they first came out... I THINK that might have changed with the later style computerized jobbers...
Yep... Been there... When you go to put that thing back together it helps to blow out and hand tap the holes first... Though the bolts are shouldered you can also cut down a 1.500 bolt by .250 and get a proper shoulder with longer threads.
There is also a low pressure switch that you can use and or a lock up over ride kit that bypasses part of the pump valve body...

If anyone is...
Mike what did you use? 700?
If so you only want lock up in 4th which you can easily do with a PSI switch on the vlave body and leave your braking set up as is.
RE: rules of thumb...
Eh friggen ruin my parade already lol... Just goes to show... Ask dunb questions before doing dumb things!!!
I was hoping to keep my cooling fans on the 24 side and the AC fan on the 12... Looks like I will use a few extra relays instead and keep it all on the 12V...
Well... I gotta swing ole Betsy here by the fab shop in Sanford to bend up some window frames which I am now obsessed with doing. That would proably take 2-4 hours with BSing and story swapping... Thats over half way to dead oak...
If ya wanna go together great... If not I could prolly make a...
Wiring question...
I think I have my answer but I want someone to concur to make me feel a little more warm and fuzzy about this...
Batteries wired in series ups voltage, this we know... But if you are wiring motors the same do you get the same effect?
I.E. two 12 motors wired in series is...
I use hydrochloric acid (muratic acid, pool acid)...
Pull the tank, remove any brass / copper plugs... Use 1 gal acid : .50 gal water... Sometimes I have to go stronger but that generally does the trick in a hour or so. Just don't leave it sit unattended for hours on end. Flush it THOROUGHLY...
TL,
Naw... If I ever bite that bullet (tracked / half) I am not going APC / AC ..... I am going full bore and getting a tank!!!
One can only dream... Did find a HT35G close to me the other day, had to lock the brakes up and do a u turn... Got me thinkin that i need to finish the deuce up...
DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT... Top loader... what is the purpose behind posting that??? Postings like this are totally unfair... I mean... that is hard enough to locate one of those... let alone buy one... and then restore it!!!!!... Its just plain rude! Only because its your and not mine...
