    M1031 Steering noise

Totally unfamiliar with your set up so just tossing this out there, is the pump/reservoir mounted with rubber mounts? Ifso are any worn or bent? I know it's a long shot but $600 a pretty big chunk. Good luck.

    Gear Vendors Overdrive

Never had a Gear Vender OD but I do know they can only be used in 2 wheel drive because they mount after the TC. Any older truck junk yards down around you? If so look around in the old 1 and 2 ton trucks for a cast iron overdrive unit that mounts in FRONT of the SM465. It moves the tranny back...

    Damaged Socket Question/Advice

I had a similar problem and was told by 2 local parts suppliers that they could not get that socket, so I took a regular 194 bulb and socket from an old side marker and cut the 'tabs' off the socket and trimmed it for a press fit. Worked great.

    Harbor Freight Winch questions

I'd post up a pic but it would be a waste, considering it's sitting on the floor of my storage container. Oh well, maybe some day.

    Heater switch melted… Why?

That switch is available at many auto parts store, the plug is a bit harder to find new.

    LED Taillights?

I bought a set and the work great, fit good too. Mine have a small micro switch on the back to change them from 'normal' to sequential flashing, that works good and is different. I was worried about water getting in at the switch so smeared it with silicon and then found out the sequential...

Don't know what happened to my response , it somehow got mixed up with CUCVUS's quote.

    No rear taillights help

The dim bulb is probably a bad ground, very common.

    Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner Housing

I think you will get a bit of extra power with a snorkel, but you'd be hard pressed to measure it let alone see it. Where it might (key word) help would be cooler air when going up hill loaded it might (there's that word again) help keep the engine cooler. I did the snorkel to the core support...

M1008 quick starting causes starter to grind - is this normal?

No such thing as "starting to fast". You could (as said) be a bit slow releasing the key OR there could be some oil built up on the Bendix and that can cause it to stick a bit.

Drivers side window came out of regulator bracket

Never used that particular product but I have used others like it. It WILL outlast the truck! One time just as an experiment I used 3M urethane to 'glue' on a set of cab corners , it worked great except for the body filler didn't stick along that seam line. No biggie , I just wanted to see if it...

    Military Vic Serves Again

Why would you want to pay $$$ to ship something both ways that will make you a stick out? If your doing intel work don't you want to blend in?

Different Way to Plumb Dual Fuel Tanks

WOW I haven't seen one of those in 30 years, I'm surprised they're still available. Back in the day that valve would be mounted on the floor between the driver's seat and the door, that way you can just reach down and switch it. If you have bucket seats it might be nice in the center somewhere.

    4WD Light

The light just tells you the position of the lever, it doesn't know if the hubs are locked or not.

Different Way to Plumb Dual Fuel Tanks

Instead of one tank on each side install a Blazer or suburban tank in the rear and turn in around so the fill is on the left side. Use the fuel door a surrounding metal from the doner truck to finish the outside. As far as connecting them together I'd keep them separate and use a transfer pump...

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

Notice that rubber mat on the firewall? That is the coveted yet rarely seen firewall sound deadening, very nice thing to have combined with a hood blanket and floor insulation/carpet it can make for a very quiet and comfortable ride.
