Why would he have to adapt to an Allison? The Allison is harder to deal with from a standalone TCU stand point. If he considers a Cummins swap he could much more easily adapt it to a 4L80 that already bolts up to the rest of the drive train. Basically just an engine swap.
Thanks for the information and I suspected it wasn't available hence "Long shot" in the title. As far as problems go, i'm not that worried. It's not like I have the missile battery or access to stinger missiles LOL. And if I remember correctly, they are fighting for my right to free speech...
The problem with online auctions is people look at what other people are ASKING and not what they are actually SELLING for to determine price. One guy ask $1000 for a $50 item and then everyone else thinks it's worth $1000 and that isn't the case. You have to look under Completed auctions and...
Put your hand held volt meter across the volt meter in the dash and see if you have 24v. That is literally ground on 1 side and 27 power on the other. If you have 0v then take your negative volt meter probe and find a ground on the truck, like the case of the PCB. Then see if you have 24v...
Backwards is different than "( he had it both pos to truck and negatives together)". If the batteries were backwards as in Positive to Ground and Negative to Power, that would likely do damage.
Also, if he had both negatives together, I don't see how that would damage anything. Either it wouldn't flow any power or in the event he actually grounded the 2 negatives and hooked up the positive, it would only be 12v.
The ignition switch, in the run position, applies power to only 2 components, the PCB and Circuit Breaker 2 (CB-2). If the truck starts then power is going to the PCB. The PCB also feeds power to CB-1 and that goes to your heater fan switch. My guess is the heater fan works. If this is the...
I've never tried it that way. I'd pull it until you see the splines then put the air nozzle right into the where the splines and shaft meet. At the zerk fitting you would likely just blow past the seal. I've done this with other stubborn yokes over the years and it's probably been 50/50...
No the cap does not unscrew, it is held on by a lip and it is very difficult to remove and even more difficult to get the new one on. I rebuilt my front driveshaft during my conversion and replaced my cap because it was damaged.
The slip yoke where the two driveshaft halves pull apart is...
They do sell a special tool for the 6.2 fuel injectors. I saw it on epay last night. I have never removed a fuel injector so I don't know if it required or not but they do make one.
The factory original speedo has a built in light. Here is a picture of the back. I wonder if the bulb can be access by removing the screws on the connector.
