If you are running them on your M1009 you will need to change rims for the HMMWV tires (not sure if a 16.5" 6bolt is available) or change hubs or axles.
May be cheaper to run civvy tires.

The easiest way to find the differences is to download the tech manuals, look in the parts manuals, find the UOC (Used on Code) at the beinging of the manual and then see what the different part numbers are. If there is no UOC then the parts are the same.

Not all the pieces will fit. The housing itself is different and the mounting hardware inside the alternator is different. Not the regulator, diode-trio, rectifier and other parts will be the same.
Didn't the "new" part house alternator come with a warranty?
