    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

I have followed this thread for the past 96 pages of posts & I believe that Sonni has a God given talent for working on heavy military equipment like no others, including the engineers & plant assembly guys. They have all the money & equipment necessary to do their work, Sonni has minimal...

    1st M35A2 coming home in a week

You are better prepared than I was in you recovery efforts. Thank your buddy & offer him a big steak dinner on top of whatever it costs to trailer it home. A lot of guys have done both the driving & trailering home of their MVs, but none of them blew a tire, a radiator hose, a motor or a wheel...

    1st M35A2 coming home in a week

If you are going to drive it home, you need to check all the fluid levels, the fuel tank for anything other than diesel fuel, the tires condition, brakes, hoses, belts etc. Taking tools, spare filters, lubricants, water & a cell phone is a must. 500 miles is a long way for a truck that has been...

Length of time waiting for an invoice for a won auction?

I've normally waited anywhere from 24 to 72 hours to get a paid invoice, since it is usually on a weekend, no problem. Chill a little & your invoice will probably show up a little bit later due to the holiday & large amount of truck traffic lately!

    My new M1101 and Jeep!

I have not seen any numbers on the frames while inspecting them, other than the VIN #'s on the plate on the tongue. Swapping plates, I know nothing!

Adventures Of My New M1101 2010 Silver Eagle

Delinquent fees charges for when the Government owned the trailer, before you even purchased it off the auction? That makes no sense what so ever, unless they are looking for more tax revenue in every little corner. I'll find out what Florida does about this when I am able to take the trailer in...

    1987 deuce recovery

Try Zep purple degreaser next time. The active ingrediant is sodium hydroxide, which is a caustic, not an acid, so don't use it on aluminum. It will clean on an industrial level better than anything else available now & it is not diluted down out of the container. The company I work for uses it...

Adventures Of My New M1101 2010 Silver Eagle

Thank you Sir, that is what I was looking for. I also, want to be able to plug either trailer into the Deuce when the time requires it (after a bulb change of course). Removing the original mil-spec plug is out of the question as far as I'm concerned!

Adventures Of My New M1101 2010 Silver Eagle

I am using the original mil-spec LEDs also, but was wondering the correct connections of a 4 wire civy plug to the junction plate wires so that the markers would light correctly along with stop/turn lamps & tail lights.

How to tell if drums are worn out?

There should be a min/max thickness of the drum rim or an overall ID of the shoe contact area to give you an idea of where you stand as far as acceptable wear is concerned. If the ID is past the stamped limit, replace the drum!

Adventures Of My New M1101 2010 Silver Eagle

Is there a schematic for the lighting you used to correctly hook up the civy lights after removing the military pigtail from the junction plate?

Adventures Of My New M1101 2010 Silver Eagle

If you move the temp tail/brake lights over to the stabilizer posts instead of the tiedown posts, the magnets will still grab the steel & you can open the tailgate without damaging the temp lighting setup, also less wind resistance & you can see traffic better behind you. I added some zipties to...

Got my new to me M1102 and a couple questions for you guys

These trailers have a multitude of varations done to them, depending on what the military needed @ that time. Some were actual field kitchens on a small basis; another was a self loading large (122mm?)mortar system. There are gensets mounted to them, etc. Your brackets are just the base for...
