Go with the locomotive horns, a guy @ work spent several thousand dolllars putting a locomotive horn on his GMC. When he leaves work after a third shift, he usualy taps the horn as a shift change note. The horn is louder than the 4 horn emergency evacuation air horn we have @ the plant, which...
You truely are an auctionaddict. Good luck on your recoveries this trip @ the new site.
Thanks for heads up of what to expect to get on base @ Warner Robins, Ga. I had all my ducks in a row, with the only glitch being the background check computer was not working right. Security was personable...
Agreeded totally. Never assume anything, such as an unloaded firearm. That said, I bled the # 6 overflow line & got a small amount of air out, so then moved to the #1 & bled it, with only a few bubbles coming out, then solid fuel flow. Then the injector pump side plate came off to make sure all...
Driving thru Lawtey, Starke or Waldo is a hazardous drive due to the local PD, or the high level of 18 wheel traffic. I'm sorry to hear of your collision due to a negligent big rig driver, but that is part of the game unfortunately. This is why we have insurance to hopefully replace the...
I use group 27 in the Deuce I recently aquired & the starter spins the engine like a fan. It is Florida after all & until it gets really cold in January, there should be no problems. If there are, its back to the red top optimizers that came with it!
I never touched anything in the IP except the fuel inlet nut when it was removed to bleed the final fuel filter line. The fuel shutoff is up against the firewall & the lever is fully forward; so that is not the problem.
Does Cliffords make house calls? The Deuce could tow or carry the Toyota...
She still won't run, so I am renting a 6 x 12 trailer today to go to Robins AFB & pick up the last weeks auction results. Wish my old back luck, the 6 pallets will have to be broken down & loaded by hand into the enclosed trailer, since the Deuce will stay @ home for this trip. The up side is...
I finished changing the fuel filters last night & even though everything was bled as I went thru it & after all was sealed up; the engine won't run now. There is fuel flow up to the IP in volume & clean, but she will not start. I tried to bleed the furthest injector from the IP but could not get...
Back to the fuel filter changes, I replaced the two filters on left side of the engine, near the firewall & they were a nice orange color varnish mess like the water separator was but some what cleaner by the final filter. Lots of orange varnish muck in the bottoms of each canister, but an...
Went to NAPA & picked up a Wagner 4800 headlamp & a water separator (the one @ the front of the truck) filter element. The new bulb had no leads, so I cut off the leads from the dead bulb & soldered them onto the new bulb; reinstalled the bulb & now I have both functional headlamps!
The initial...
After coming back from lunch, I checked the area of the lamp with the engine running & yup, it bounces around like a 5 year old who sneeked a mountain dew. Idle speed is around 700 rpm or so, so that is something I didn't think of! Rubber isolaters & a new bulb are in the thought pattern
Now, I...
Re: Deuce original lighting problem
This morning on the way to work in the Deuce, the right headlamp blew out on low beam. Shortly after, the high beam went with it. The voltage was in the normal zone & the ground is fine as I checked it with a Fluke
VOM. Checking the bulb, showed both...
I got with my local SW dealer & they stated that I had to order in multiples of 4 gallons @ a time. They didn't state whether I could mix & match colors or it was one color per 4 gallon minimum!
A buddy is going to paint his soon to be purchased 1982 Deuce a flat OD, so I may have to try &...
Thanks for the pictures, that gives a clear idea of how BIG that thing is. Good Lord, it is huge. Good luck on getting her to her new owner & you home safely in the XM818!
A local PD here in N Florida got an MRAP from Camp Shelby for $2K & drove it home. It is awesome to see driving down the highway, unless you are in front of it going too slow. They bought it for floods & bad weather help, if & when that might happen. Tax dollars @ work!
