Those pictures make me sick @ knowing that all that green/tan iron went to the scrapper; instead of being utilized for truck repairs ot replacement parts. The only good part is maybe that this was all that was left after the serviceable parts were removed; the engines were salvaged too!
Happy Fathers Day & really nice truck.
I wonder why your gauges, oil, air pressure, fuel etc are in different locations than normal?
Enjoy the truck & all the fun times you will have with it!
Another welcome from N Florida, no, not from Kentucky; but going to Knob Creek every year gives an idea how great it is there. The Green Iron Disease is a welcome thing, unlike other diseases out there.
Welcome from N Florida & get ready to innoculate yourself with the noncurable, "Green Iron Disease." Good luck on your truck!
Don't forget to post some pictures!
That's a heavy trailer just by itself, just shy of 3K with all that is attached. You did well to get it home uneventfully. I pulled my first one home with the Deuce & you couldn't even tell it was there. Nice score on a good solid trailer!
Welcome from Florida to your future Green Iron disease. Does you wife know that the Deuce will cost less to purchase & maintain than your for sale boat? Another reason to get the deuce & save money @ the same time...unless you really go all out with upgrades!
Good looking truck! When you are finished wrenching, take her out for a test drive & look in the mirror for the smile you can't wipe off your face. Congratualtions on your first!
The fuel tank holds 80 gallons IIRC. By central air, do you mean a/c in the cab or, CTIS? How capable in the desert, isn't that is where we sent these trucks in the last 11 years. Its reliability depends on your wrenching & maintenance capabilities; along with a good parts source when you need...
Good idea for draining the air tanks without getting under the truck to do so. The Deuce I have has two different drain valves, one with the petcock that you turn like yours & one that unscrews to dump the water. Your headlamp conversion looks really good too, do you feel it is worth it? The...
Nice score on all of the extra parts no one thought about taking off the truck before it went to DRMO. Your shipping bill will vaporize after selling off any of the extras you don't want to keep! How about a few pictures of the truck itself?
When I went to North Georgia early last month to pick up my first Deuce, I had been told by a member here to do the pressurizing trick with the windows. During the hot day, all the windows up & the drivers front window open just a few inches @ highway speed, kept the truck cool. At night when...
You got a great price on it, 3x less than here in Florida. Get her home & take pictures on the way. Nice truck by the way, makes me want a 5 ton beast!
After your first ride works out well, you might want to consider changing your avatar to a thumbs up, instead of a bullet to the head; you will have earned it!
