Not really. Gear oil has to "flow" in order to disperse the heat. Otherwise it just gets hot and thin.
In the case of a deuce, the gear oil just saturates the bearings, but does not return to the gear housing to cool. When it finally thins the grease, the bearings run to hot.
That's where the flux capacitor was mounted on the M35s.
They stopped installing them and took them all off when someone finally realized the truck only goes 56 miles an hour. Not fast enough to make the time jump.

I don't have a fork truck, but I have a commercial address and loading dock near Mount Sterling. I am back and forth between here and Lexington a lot. I wouldn't care to drop them off.

Actually, it looks like a pretty good truck at a pretty good price. Of course, without hearing it run and seeing it in person, that is just a first impression.
The engine looks pretty dry for a 40 year old truck. They probably cleaned it, so there may be some leaks that show themselves later...
The problem with that strategy is if the buddy doing the bidding up crosses the reserve barrier, eBay is going to want their cut. Unless, of course, the poster pulls the auction before it ends.
