    What's wrong with this picture

Not really. Gear oil has to "flow" in order to disperse the heat. Otherwise it just gets hot and thin. In the case of a deuce, the gear oil just saturates the bearings, but does not return to the gear housing to cool. When it finally thins the grease, the bearings run to hot.

Can you find the MV in this photo?

So, where can we get a Ghillie suit for our deuces? In all seriousness, that is a shame.

Does the A3 still have the A2 serial number on the frame, or do they remove them during the rebuild?

    What's wrong with this picture

How were they not leaking? Or were they? I'm with HeavySteven, I would check the front axles.

    What was here???

That's where the flux capacitor was mounted on the M35s. They stopped installing them and took them all off when someone finally realized the truck only goes 56 miles an hour. Not fast enough to make the time jump.

how to tell if it is gov. owned

If you are looking at one in private hands, and it does not have a title, I would get the numbers off of it and give CARNAC a PM.

Yeah, I think that one is going to take more than some fresh fuel and a couple of hot batteries. Great find though.

What is this? No Really what is the name for this?

In the vintage and antique truck restoration world, we just call them tailgate chain covers. Bicycle inner tubes make great ones, not authentic, but they work well. The problem with the Deuce is they have a welded link on the hook end, and the last link is welded to the truck. That's why the...

    Central KY loading dock needed

I don't have a fork truck, but I have a commercial address and loading dock near Mount Sterling. I am back and forth between here and Lexington a lot. I wouldn't care to drop them off. Added note: I do have a backhoe, if it's needed to unload/load.

Vehicles needed - KY Veterans Celebration

I wish I could make it, but I"m booked that weekend. (work) I grew up in Berea (some would dispute that) and lived there until the ripe old age of 35. Most of my friends and family are there. It's a great little town. Again, I wish I could do it, but it's one of the few weekends in the spring...

What did I get myself into?

Actually, it looks like a pretty good truck at a pretty good price. Of course, without hearing it run and seeing it in person, that is just a first impression. The engine looks pretty dry for a 40 year old truck. They probably cleaned it, so there may be some leaks that show themselves later...

M35A2 Crew Cab #2 with rear steer

It seems all of his trucks turn out awesome. I still think a 6 passenger utility vehicle would be cool. But maybe that's just me.

Question about 5 ton on eBay

The problem with that strategy is if the buddy doing the bidding up crosses the reserve barrier, eBay is going to want their cut. Unless, of course, the poster pulls the auction before it ends. eBay is not a bit shy about asking for their money.
