Well I got my handles and hold down bolts on my battery box, and I think it turned out pretty good.
I think I'm going to skip the paint and just rubber coat the whole thing.
Well, I got started on a new battery box. As you can see from pics #1 and 2, my old one was not long for this world. So, since my work has their own sheet metal shop, I figured: Why not make one myself? This is what it looks like so far before paint and rubber coating. I still have to come up...
I agree with BFR. Take out the bench seat, both tunnel covers, and remove the spare. A cherry picker through the passenger door works very well. Shouldn't take more than an afternoon.
Thanks for the input, Chuck. I did not know about the three varieties. I've been working for a heat and air place for about 7 years, and although we don't change the oil like we should, I still have access to a little bit. I'll have to look into what kind we have now.
What about vacuum pump oil? Since vacuum pump oil is supposed to be drained after every use, there might be quite a bit floating around. Perhaps this calls for some research.
Were the specs of this pump ever released? I'm starting to piece together a filter setup of my own, and was looking for some options. Inquiring minds want to know.:D
Well, after much ado and a great length of time, I have completed two more "upgrades" to my truck. I haven't driven my truck enough to get an idea of how well the seat is going to work yet, though. It kinda cut down on my leg room, but I don't think I'll take it back out.
I haven't put...
It's probably going to be a while before I decide any thing on paint, but keep the ideas coming.
USAFSS-ColdWarrior, I only have two springs and no bolts. The bolts that he gave me were just some grade 3 or 5 that were 4" or 5" long just to keep the bed located on the truck, in addition to it...
Tom, the only bolts they had were too long, so that's why the ratchet straps are over the bed.
Fuzzy, I still haven't decided. I know its supposed to be green or camo, but almost every other truck is that color. I would like for mine to stand out a little more, but I have still not decided what...
Alright, after much ado and and few delays, here are the promised pics. Pardon the cell phone quality.
The guys I bought it from swapped it out for me Sunday morning before we came back home. They are really great people. Now all I need is one mud flap hanger and all the bolts to bolt it...
