Check the voltage out put of the individual alternators.. the internal regulator in one may have gone South for the winter...also check each battery with the engine running to see if voltage exceeds 14.8V more or less. Both batteries should be of the same type and capacity and you should...
I have 6 or 8 various ones here... Next time I am out in container 63 I will see if I have one of those puppies...does the one in the photo have a dataplate and nsn on it...??
If you are in a cold climate...get the group 31s from a good mfr and get the 7 year warranty and two year free replacement. I still use the wally world batts in my stuff with one year free replacement even if they freeze up during the winter here in VT at 40 below Solargisers on my stuff...
40 degrees above ambient is not much..They will ordinarily be warm to the touch after a run. Did you set heel and toe of rear brakes with the feeler gauge , 4 adjustments per wheel etc. Loads of new stuff in there to wear in..jack up and spin the rears by hand and feel for drag variations...
It apparently is not the gaskets. You have a mechanical interference...Take it all apart again and be careful to fit all parts back into their correct locations...and look for interference...slow and easy as they say...put all the old components back in and see if the problem still occurs, if...
One thing to be careful of is the nomenclature of stuff... A M135/M211 Deuce has an Air Pak for the brakes which is a Air over Hydraulic booster using a compressor. The Hydrovac is a Vacuum booster for brakes which was used in WWII on Halftracks and CCKW etc... Air pressure not vacuum is used...
Better to get your state title unless you have to pay sales tax... A
1008 in VT transfers without a title because of age... so a non titled bill of sale works here.
I have a takeout set of 6..one hole...injectors from a LDS..5 ton motor... used good... $125 the set..complete injectors.. PM to rampartsllc@aol.com I do not export from the USA, don't ask!!!
I have the pix in front of me... both in my mind and of course on the truck...however we all have them in the manuals...kwitcherbellyachin....Happy Hallowe'en
Get some lead additive to help lube the engine...it was designed for MOGAS in 1949 and not the new EPA Friendly stuff.. Oh the days of gray hands from washing parts in real leaded gasoline...didn't affect me much, much, much, much, much....
All that extra weight further out front is not going to make the life of the steering components very happy. I question comment "hook up the hydraulics".. As these were driven by shaft and pto in their original config.
If it is whining, the noise is coming from the pump, whether or not the problem is with the pump as these trucks do not have the electric booster for the hydraboost like the larger GM POS.
If you get one of the new switches you might as well get a fire extinguisher to go with it and a battery charger.. As for ease of operation, it is not.
