Help NNJ Boy Scouts Help Toys for Tots
The following request for multiple days was posted to the the MTA list but we know there are more MVs in our area than we have club members, so we need you and your MV. It's not an MTA event. It's a Boy Scouts/USMC effort and we just happen to be a...
If your Marines are like ours, it's never too late to offer help and they need all kinds. It doesn't really break loose until Black Friday. That's when everybody starts to think, "      Toys for Tots!!!"

These aren't my trucks, but I wish they were. If I was thinking about driving it home, I'd figure on a top speed of 40 mph and that would be after an hour or so of working up to it -- and I'm not sure I'd keep it there for long periods. Even though it might run fine for the local trips it's...
There's no better advice than to go see one that's been done, and esp. one as nice as Storm's. You have a variety of choices for canvas and paint. Look, learn and shop.

I doubt if any NOS canvas has survived in good shape. I'd google Wee Bee Webbing, New Life Canvas, and Beechwood in that order of my taste for reproductions. I've seen an M37 restored to the 9s with Wee Bee on it and it is absolutely great
WarrenD's Boonie Rat looks wonderful in the Randolph...
After spending a half hour in the TM and LO (Emmando's right) and about as much time under the truck trying to figure this out, I finally searched SS from Google and found this old thread. Once again, the site proves valuable.
Thanks for the answers.

Like USAFSS-ColdWarrior said, pick the location closest to you and you'll probably be in their area. They'll likely need help throughout. The Picatinny Marines cover the entire width of NJ from the Hudson to PA, then from the NYS border on the north into south Jersey where the Ft Dix (???)...
We actually get an early start in conjunction with the Marines at Picatinny. It started in August with Santa's convoy at Lead East ("...862 Toys Donated and $4,200 raised for TOYS FOR TOTS by the Military Transport Association and Picatinny Arsenal Marine Reserves..."), a car show followed...
I was talking about the aftermarket surge brake actuator. They aren't cheap, but neither are the electric actuators (and controller), though the latter probably avoids cutting and welding on the trailer tongue. I suspect they'll be about the same in price unless you can do the bulk of the...
Check the surge brake actuator for a pin-way. On the M101s, a pin goes through the actuator to keep it from locking while backing. The one you're looking at probably has the same feature.

Depending on the color, more or less. The sample should be flat and sufficient to cover the lens of the computer so it gets a good look. If it's a complicated color, or if you're a nit about making it right in different light conditions it might need tweaking.
It might hit it right on; it...
Gave the cab cover a preservative treatment with Canvak. The canvas is over 15 years old and I don't think it was ever attended to. It really soaked it up. Nice product with no real downsides that I can tell. Lots of reviews on the Internet attesting to it improving water resistance. No real...
If you look it up in the TMs you'll find that the lunette is the 'drawbar'. That was good for a lot of frustration here.
I have 3 105s and a 103. All have been peachy except one. That one took everything above including rear pressure from both a fork lift and steel wedges, (but not the...
