RE: prices
Man, I want you guys working for me! You charge nothing for labor? And where'd the 15 year old motor come from? He said it had been sitting for 15 years! Yeah, I know stuff that's been sitting for years can be brought to life, that's not the point. The man asked what it'd be worth...
RE: prices
Not trying to upset anyone, but there's a big difference in what something's worth in parts and what you should be willing to pay for it "as is". I think most of us are guilty of this, myself included. We see a vehicle that's obviously been sitting for years, probably had some major...
RE: price
$2000 for parts from a gas 5 ton that's been sitting for 15 years? You gotta be dreamin' dude! $500 to $1000 tops if the box and hoist are in useable condition. 15 years in the elements does a lot of damage not to mention it's 45 years old in the first place.
RE: Re: RE: Fairly Dumb Question
I'd be kinda careful with the bfh, a medium fh should do the trick! ( I don't care how old I get, I'm still a smart a-- kid at heart)
Hey FS, if you still have that engine and related parts, come high water or hornets nests, I'm gonna get up that way to get it this summer! I just might drag westy along if we can get a weekend off at the same time. And I won't make any more nasty comments about multifuels (I'm outa rocks)
The multifuel engine may be a wonderfull design, but it just wasn't solid enough to stand up to young, abusive drivers and no maintenance. The fact that it could burn almost anything poured into the tank was it's greatest selling point. My point in saying the multi was a crappy excuse for an...
I'm sure you hate to see it go, but a HEMMT will go a long way toward filling the empty spot left behind. Judging from your past efforts, I can't wait to see how the new project turns out. Good luck and keep posting pictures!

It looks strangely complete for a "farm modified" truck. The M135 rims are becoming hard to find. The bed, pintle hitch, mirror arms and cab top are usually gone or hacked. The grab handle above the glove box, for some reason, is almost always gone. If the drivetrain is solid, you got yourself a...
Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to just use junk civilian trucks and broom some green paint on em? If you're useing them for props, what's the difference? You can get really classy and put some stars on the doors and 90% of the general public won't know the difference or care.
Awesome find! That's what we all dream of, the old "truck, jeep, halftrack, whatever in a barn". Give the old girl a good home and don't be afraid to show her off once in a while. [thumbzup]
RE: m211
The only concern I would have would be cornering, but you covered that with the extended towbar. Most farmers have pulled wagons (no weight on hitch) over 20,000. You learn real quick the true meaning of "take it easy" Good job and glad you made it home safe! :driver:
How come it's always the southern boys that think the white crap is pretty? I guess if I hadn't shoveled, scraped, plowed, loaded, salted and generally fought snow for the last 30+ years day, night, weekends and holidays, I'd think it was pretty too. Instead, looking at those pictures makes me...
Just measured the threads on my 105 lunette and it's 1 1/8" fine thread. Don't know if there was a change but you might want to double check the size. If you can't find one, I might be able to hunt one up for you.
I've talked to a NG pilot about vehicles on firing ranges and he said they'd rather not have hard targets with engine blocks, transmissions and axles because of the chance of a stray ricochet returning to sender.
