Select Vehicles on Hold GL WHAT?

If they pull parts, they can keep my trucks. It will make them undrivable and the only way I can afford to get my Kentucky truck home is to drive it. I'm on the phone with GL right now...on hold, big surprise. One of my recoveries is scheduled for 9am Monday morning, and that site is closed for...

Select Vehicles on Hold GL WHAT?

Both of the trucks I received invoices for yesterday are on the list. And I just made arrangements for BOTH trucks to be picked up, including an airline ticket and temporary plate for one! WTF????? This pretty much guarantees the end of my dealing with GL. Jim

snow / ice tires for deuce

I'll 2nd the narrow tire for ice and snow. As for height...it depends on whether you'll venture off the beaten path. If there are times you'll be driving in deep unplowed snow, go for a tall tire (still narrow though). For plowed roads, any height should work fine. Jim

    EUC Holding Pattern

Well I'm shocked again...and have to take back my words about scheduling the Bordentown recovery. I got a call back 9am this morning, it was GL, and I was able to schedule the Bordentown recovery for Monday morning!!! Now I may just move my flight up a bit for Kentucky...debating... I'm all...

    EUC Holding Pattern

Now comes the fun part...scheduling. I tried calling Bordentown today, and found out they are only open Tues. and Wed. So I'll probably get in tough next week, and if I'm super lucky, be able to do the recovery Wednesday. More realistic, however, is that I won't be able to pick the truck up...

    ATF mixed with diesel

In my Cummins engines I always ran around 1/2 to 1 qt. of motor oil in the tank with each fillup. I used to do it mainly in the winter, but with ULSD at the pumps now, I run it all the time. I can actually hear the difference if I haven't used it for a couple tankfulls. The engine is slightly...

    EUC Holding Pattern

I feel for ya (all). I would check GL about 10+ times a day, and was in a poor mood lately from being stressed out. And sine I'm out of work at the moment, I don't even have any distractions to keep my mind off it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the rest of you. I'm sure you are all thinking...

    EUC Holding Pattern

Someone call 911...I just had a heart attack...I've fallen and can't get up... Event 4600 invoice PAID IN FULL!!!! I'm kind of surprised I didn't get both EUCs back at once, but maybe the other one will show a little later. Now for some scheduling!!! Edit: I just got the one for 4678...

Is GL actually a Used Car Dealer?

They must have ways to skirt around local laws. GL has had auctions in N.H. But N.H. law states that to transfer more than 5 vehicles in a year, you must have a dealer's license. But if you have a dealer's license, you are required to provide a dealer temporary plate with each sold vehicle...

26 FT. of M105s on 16FT of Trailer!

lol...maybe he bought them up in Limestone, ME where I bought mine. Nobody wanted to drive that far up, so they all went for around $65 each! Both of mine had new tires, one was in great shape, the other decent shape. Jim

26 FT. of M105s on 16FT of Trailer!

I only hauled 2, but no other trailers needed. 350 miles. That Durango has a 4bt Cummins, and that was its first tow. It went great. Jim

    Paid in full invoice.

I've never heard of not being able to start it/drive it, as long as you have the proper paperwork. Once you have the Paid In Full invoice, and you have the truck registered and insured, its YOUR truck. I don't see that its any different driving that off the base than driving your regular vehicle...

    Paid in full invoice.

Its something about 4600 thats taking a long time. A few guys seem to have gotten lucky and got fairly quick invoices, but I'm at 44 days, and this isn't my first EUC. It would be even longer than that, but I had to do the export letter (I didn't know about it...new since I last purchased) and...

    deuce value without title?

It also, and probably most importantly, matters which state its going TO. Not all states will accept the other state's paperwork for issuing a title. Thats the problem I've had when selling an older vehicle from N.H. I believe the exception is if I was a licensed dealer. But for private sale...

    Compliance with DOT???

Once you get out of your own state, most states pay no attention to state-specific rules other than their own. Lets say N.H. has a law stating that no trucks over 10k GVW are allowed to be green :-D Once you leave N.H., the other states don't care that N.H. doesn't allow big green trucks. They...

repower with a screming detroit or possible big cam cummins?

Keep watch on ebay, they come up from time to time. Also watch older trucks, like from the 60's and maybe 70's. International used them a lot in their aprox. 2-ton trucks. Hey, whats wrong with more shifters??? :driver::driver::driver: It gives you something to do when you are bored...lol...

    Compliance with DOT???

Try to look into IL motor vehicle laws regarding equipment of vehicles. N.H.'s bumper height laws only apply up to a certain GVW. Heavier trucks are exempt. A few 4x4 owners have skirted the rules by modifying GM Topkick and Kodiak trucks with a pickup bed and 1-ton axles to be used as lifted...

    deuce value without title?

It could always be sold in N.H. We don't require titles for vehicles over 15 years old. In fact, our vehicles end up useless to many out of staters, because the state won't issue a title for older vehicles. I've tried going through them when I wanted to sell a vehicle to someone in Mass., and...

repower with a screming detroit or possible big cam cummins?

EDIT: For some reason there is 1 period different on your link, HERE is the link with working pics. Yes you can do that. You can also use these to split gears. I believe the one shown is the same one I was going to use in my Dodge project, which I'm considering seeing if it can be installed in...
