12v vs. 24v is a big controversy. I have a 12v in my '96, 270k miles and not even a hiccup of the engine. A couple years ago I installed a fuel plate to bring me up to around 580 lbs. of torque, cost: $99. My friend has a 24v with 85k on it. Last year his lift pump went (very common for 24v) so...
Not much info, my data plate is missing...here is what I have:
Frame number: M57334
Registration number: This is on the inside of the door, possibly: 4E0883
NSN: 2320000771616
Bought from: Ft. Knox, KY

DTID: (hope this helps): W81G1X80435051D
Any info...
I need to get the heater in mine, its this week's project (probably actually an easy day project, add in a couple days procrastinating, another day or two to get the parts together, etc.)

I just got my Deuce home yesterday, and it runs like a top. The recovery was 1100 miles. If you have a tow bar, and the M108 can be towed, I'd do it for fuel money. Let me know. I'm about 135 miles from Union, in northern N.H. You'd have to supply a tow bar, I don't have one.

I just got home from a Kentucky recovery last night, did 1140 miles overall, including the trip from the base to my friend's in Louisville, then home to N.H. 1100 series Goodyear radials, 9.5 mpg (calculated by GPS, not the slightly off odometer) and ran like this the whole way:
I did the...
My "tool suitcase" weighs 48 lbs. according to the shipping scales I use...Southwest allows 50 lbs. Worse case, I might have to swap the jeans I used as "wadding"...lol...to the other bag. Then I have an alice pack for my main checked bag with clothes and filters & belts in it, and the carry-on...
EUC time periods seem to have no consistency. I've seen 1st time buyers, myself included for my first sale, get the Paid In Full back in less than 30 days. On the other hand, for my auctions #5 & #6 (the two Deuces I need to pick up right now) I've been waiting officially 28 & 38 days before my...
No, I was talking CARBON, the stuff the enviro nazis keep complaining that diesels pollute with. The stuff that came out of the ground, was processed, used, and is going back to the ground. Also the same thing coal produces, etc.
And as a reminder for 4th grade science...Carbon Dioxide was here...
I was dealing with 2 different locations. For N.J., I only told them about it because I got a call asking why I wasn't there at 9am to pick my truck up. If I knew they would have released it, I would have been there, and kept my mouth shut. But I wasn't driving 450 miles for the slim chance that...
Trust me, if I'd known it would have been O.K., I would have been there! Its around 450 miles from me, so not exactly something I was able to take a run down to the base just to see if I could get my truck on just a chance.
Jim
At least we are getting some info now! I had a call from GL a few minutes ago. They wanted to know why I wasn't at my appt. this morning to pick up my Deuce in N.J.
aua
It was Kathy, she's very nice, she wasn't aware of the hold! Crap, I could have had my truck. I forwarded her my e-mail, and...
You are very lucky. I got both of my approvals Thursday, one of them for an Aug. 27 auction win, then the e-mail Friday, and both of my trucks are on the list.
Jim
Copy and paste of the typical time limit:Load by appointment only within 14 days of a paid in full invoice. Contact site manager for appointment.
Nothing about working days, GL days, or any other details. Pretty safe to assume its just 14 calendar days.
Just found this in the Terms &...
A bit of Carbon info I learned:
Carbon is the 15th most abundant elements in the Earth's crust, and the fourth most abundant element in the universe by mass after hydrogen, helium, and oxygen. It is present in all known lifeforms, and in the human body carbon is the second most abundant element...
The 60 day is the time limit for the EUC to be approved. Since yours is already back, you got your Paid in Full invoice, the 60-day period should be over, now you have 14 days to remove your trucks from the time you got your invoice back. Do you think this will be cleared up within 14 days...
And when I asked GL about the 14-day limit I had to remove my trucks, he couldn't answer whether that still applied. So there is every possibility that the 14-day clock is ticking, and I could lose everything I have into these trucks.
I know that makes no sense...you would think the 14-day...
And we are talking about the Govt here...if it was an issue with the gauges, and they pulled all the trucks because of it, they are admitting liability. Then they have to deal with the thousands of similar trucks already in private hands. They would be opened up for lawsuits from anyone who has...
So it kind of comes down to- if you scrape the paint off from 500 gauges, then swallow it, you might get cancer in 50 years...maybe? (being sarcastic, kind of...)
Jim
Funny thing is, I don't think he's hit the 14-day mark yet...it looks like he hasn't received his invoice yet!
I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK FROM THE G0VERNMENT SO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR CLEARENCE TO PICK IT UP. I HAVE DONE THIS ALL BEFORE AND IT IS NO BIG DEAL, IT JUST TAKES A LITTLE MORE TIME THAN NORMAL...
