I will probably try to flip the lunette. Will the Deuce lug wrench fit the nut and have enough clearance? I just ran out of o2 in my little torch but I hope to have time to get it filled tommarow.
I am a little concerned about towing the trailer with the cucv. When I put in my receiver hitch I had to take out a support that tied the bottom of the pintle hitch plate into the rear towing shackle mounts. Today I cut the support down to fit in between the sides of the receiver hitch. I then...
As is it now I am taking my excursion and my cucv. Paul said he could go so I will trailer my good cucv down with my excurion. The good cucv will tow the M103 home while the excursion will trailer the other cucv home.
RE: Picked up in Columbus
Thanks for the info Bill. If all else fails I found a storage yard across the street from the Yard. I pull the trailer there and then pick it up on the weekend.
RE: Does the electonic ignition conv kit work for the MEP-18
Thats what I was thinking. So for a tune up all you would need is plugs and maybe wires? Also thanks for the info on Columbus DRMO.
I saw a place that I can get the electonic ignition conversion kit cheap. It is listed for the 4A032 along with other 4 cylinder engines and equipment. The NSN is listed as 2805 01 176 6944. Then engine in the 10k Mep-18a is the 4A084. Does anyone know if this conversion will work for the 4A084...
RE: GL loading at Columbus
Ken, I have bought stuff from Eric before. I may try to if he can help. I have the genset at 14' by the book so it will overhang. I just hope I can fit it far enough in to close the tailgate with the landing gear in the bed. I am thinking of using 12' 2x12's backed up...
I have an 8000 lbs winch and I suspect it would be enough to pull it up with my deuce snatchblock. I also have to contend with 1600 lbs on the trailer. It is actually an m103 genset trailer with two 10kw gens. I wonder how much I would have to beef up the ramps to hold the 5000 lbs trailer? I...
That truck came from the same unit mine came from. The guy is from Monroe Michigan and has been buying trucks and reselling them on ebay. I think he got paint from the same shop I use for auto paint. He out bid me on all those shop trucks.
If only I had two forklifts both here and there. I asked them at Columbus if they had a loading dock and was told "no it is self load". I did not even feel like starting in with her.
I think I may be able to just fit the cucv into a deuce bed without the talegate going up. There is just enough room for the back tire to make it on with the front of the cucv overhanging the front of the bed a bit. I will try this Saturday. If this is unsuccessful then I need to ask if anyone...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Cucv and M103 trailer in columbus OH.
I appreciate it Paul. What would work out for you best? Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday? My cousin should let me know something later today and I have to put in for the day off later today. I also need to call and make sure a pickup next...
Re: RE: Re: RE: Cucv and M103 trailer in columbus OH.
I may take you up on that. My cousin may come with me and he would drive my excursion towing the new cucv on a trailer while I drive my present cucv towing the trailer. If he can't make it then I might need to drop the trailer off with you...
That was my next move. As it is now I may have my cousin drive my excursion and trailer with the cucv on it and I will pull the trailer with my present cucv.
I just got high bidder on an m1009 and a M103a3 trailer with generators. Would anyone in the local area be able to help me out and get them during the week so I could come down and pick them up on the weekend. Or would anyone be able to store one or the other for me until the weekend?
Also...
Re: RE: Cucv and M103 trailer in columbus OH.
Thanks but it is probably closer to get it back to my house. I was hoping on someone being close enough that I could drop the trailer off then pick it up again on the weekend to avoid taking two days off.
Thanks anyway.
Chuck
