The PTO runs off the tranny..so, if you can get the particular shaft (i believe it is the countershaft) in the tranny to rotate in Neutral you may be able to winch...remember that the winch has two forward and one reverse gears within itself...and two neutrals...If your clutch is bad...another...
I will try to find a kit in my trailer so I can get you the part # at least.. The little kits, one for each wheel sell for $12 ea..and that is $72 for the truck...it all adds up... That is why I suggested reusing some of the stuff... Actually I have been reading the new Harry Potter book in...
Float level in the Holley and good needle and seat are very important. The zenith carb, newer replacment as the gummint couldn't get Holleys anymore...is a masterful simple design from the 1930s and comes with all the line extensions for the tubing so it is just a bolt on...The Holleys run...
Somebody pinch me, but I seem to remember a problem with the Fort Wayne Truck Parts rebuiilds...years ago..Can't remember the contract #... Find an old OMS Sgt and ask about em...how about it Kenny?? or
conversely, squeezee the old ones after you put em back on..they should not be loooseeey gooosey...fer sure... Somewhere in my parts, I have new small parts kits for the Deuce Brakes..not seen em in while... maybe at next flea market, they will surface.
bling... I would replace the radiator cap with a nice new one..just in case the pressure relief is lazy on the old one...that is what blows hoses... Tire pressures at spec... including the inside duals and the spare?? got your inflating hose with you..???? Spare light bulbs...??

yup, for sure, the only thing keeping the brakes working in a single circuit hydraulic system is one 40 year old rubber cup in a single wheel cyl...without that no brakes at all..and 30000 lbs of not even loaded 5 ton going down the highway at 70...stay away from me...most preventable accidents...
You will probably find all the spades in the connectors are corroded and break off when you open the plug.. Best just to get one of the military trailer connectors and plug it into the trailer recepticle on the back of your rig and put a flat four connector harness into the trailer end of it...
I really get confused on this one...there should be no GL1 anywhere near the knuckles.. there is a inner oil seal way out at the chuck (chunk) to prevent oil from getting into the axle housing.. It is fine to have some GAA in the hubs, keeps em from rusting...when you grease the two fittings on...
Not too many of em had the breakaway brake set up...sorta like spring brakes without the springs.. Draining the air tank and not hooking up the two hoses will let you know for sure if it is mechanical, not air or hydraulic pressure keeping the wheels for turning.
