I would not think the mid 5K range would be too tough, my bare bones M998 with a Duramax/A1000 weighs in at 5,300. One of the possible issues is narrowing the body, as is the drivers feet are outside the frame, not allot of room to narrow. This will be interesting for sure.

AFAICR every one I took apart just used sealer or nothing so sealer is what I used when I put them together, not too much demand on that seal

How does it sound??? any more "knocking"? If it seems to run OK I would definitely put some hours on it first, for one thing your entire exhaust system is saturated with diesel it will take time and being run at speed to cook it all out. Sounds like you are making progress.
