It would take more than a diode, the brake warning light requires a ground to illuminate, there is no ground available in the service brake circuit it simply passes hot along to the rear lamps.
Besides you would NOT want the light to illuminate when you step on the brakes as the brake warning...
Not much to report this week, I thought I was going to get the engine installed by this weekend but the pair of .013 flywheel shims I ordered turned out to measure .0115, you would think the Chicoms could at least get that right, that extra .003" of end play put it out of spec (.003-.007" end...
It is an eclectic mix of SAE and metric.
It is just called "switch" figure 46 in TM 9-2320-280-24P-1
You can search for oil filter and the transmission filter is in fig 104 in the same parts TM (3 speed) or 105 (4 speed)
That response was from springer1981 to the comment by Maxjeep1 about his experience starting his engine without the turbo in place.

The oil filler tube is connected to the cam gear case which is open to the crankcase/oil pan
I can only assume he pored water into a turbo and the water came out of the oil return which would not surprise me at all, there are two problems with that assessment.
First the compressor is not compressing at idle which is when you are seeing the blow-by and second is the way a centrifugal...

Do not just start replacing parts just because someone suggests it, troubleshoot your problems to the defective component, with a recent rebuild it is very doubtful you have a defective turbo.
One of the biggest mistakes a HMMWV newbie makes is just to start throwing money away swapping out...
Because the panel lights have never worked and the switch you have now indicates you have a short in the panel light circuit (would likely have burned out the internal resistor for dim if they are shorted) I would definitely troubleshoot the panel lamps before doing anything else, especially...
