Going through the site says all 3. My truck was sprayed at the factory and DRMO and brushed (sloppily) someplace at least once. Go over your truck carefully and you'll see how yours was done.

Thanks for all the leads and the extra couple of explanations of 'why'. It's been a looong time since I've read wiring schematics. The comments have been a big help in getting the cobwebs cleared. A good look at the actual units will probably do the most good. I'll have some time beginning...
Yes. It was a hot wire on the clearance light straight to ground on the bed. These answers make sense. I didn't pick up from the schematic that the turn signal switch was out of the circuit on blackout settings.
The tail light assemblies ground all lights to the frame via the mounting...
I honestly tried to figure this out from thread searches, TMs, and attachments. I'm not making enough headway. This is a rewrite/update from one I placed in (and just deleted from) the Deuce forum a week ago. It didn't get any action.
When I bought my truck, it had Truck-Lite clearance...
I'm pretty sure that Carnac provides the last unit. See the VIN INfo thread. I traced mine back to the 10th Mtn then the 27th Bg of NYARNG via judicious use of paint remover and email w/ the NYARNG public relations dept. Sandpaper was going thru too erratically.
Water Wash After Rust Treatment
The rust conversion product here is much the same as RustMort and the directions are to wipe or rinse with water. It tends to neutralize and cleanse the white powder that sometimes forms and that can bleed through the paint.
Once treated, the metal can often...
These are very good replies. I am sticking w/ DOT5. I didn't realize that NAPA had the rebuild kits. I'll check there for some add'l things. Somewhere there's a crossreference . . .
I'm just lost on gasket terminology: 'Banjo'? 'Keyway'? Couldn't find them in the TMs and Google images...
Based on experience, I tend to agree overall with everything that Scrounge41 wrote, esp. the comparatively low cost of material vs labor. I'd just reiterate leaving ample cure time for the alkyd primer under acrylic or latex.
I'm using BM because:
- I'm generally a BM bigot in all things...
Personally, I wouldn't recommend buying more than 1 gallon of anything until you try the color and see if you like it and the way the paint works in person. Then buy more. Cameras and computer monitors change the colors if only slightly and this particular color is very susceptible to light...
Thanks for the kind words on the wheels. All the BM was brushed with a 1", fine chisel angled sash brush. You need to get really close to tell. It will look full gloss for at least 3 weeks and deaden slowly after that. You might want to try the semi and if it's too glossy 'round about...
Seems like you want 24087. I admire your taste in trucks to model.
If you check the latex house paint thread, I posted a Benjamin Moore formula for 24087 that you can get in most any finish, alkyd or acrylic, porch/floor, house paint or industrial. Not as cheap as Behr but good stuff. Its...
I need to replace the curb side, rear tandem wheel cylinder. I don't want to be delayed waiting for parts this time of year. I've read through the TMs for the procedure and I have a brake line hose, DOT5 & a cylinder. However, I figure I need at least the following on hand for recommended...
I honestly don't know the details of the kit but I found this thread. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/8615-need-fording-kit-info.html Good stuff.
You can also try this Google search: fording kit parts site:steelsoldiers.com You can play with the words for more info.
Also a matter of...
Nice checklist outline.
Am I seeing a raised air intake suggesting a fording kit? If so, I'd probably want to check for all those components and make sure that somebody didn't just raise the intake and skip the other stuff. I'd also assume it was forded and figure on checking for water in all...
383 was my 1st guess when I saw the picture but cameras and computers change the tints of colors.
If it has faded or otherwise changed color over time (and I'd guess it has), you'll never be able to tell for sure - just be close.
I'm also convinced by looking at equipment and then comparing it...
