It's basically an epoxy urethane so painting over shouldn't be a problem.
What you have to watch out for is CARC dust released during prep. The dust is full of silica solids and epoxy components and is NOT friendly with your airway and lungs. Loose flakes should be removed and the surface washed...
Civilian stuff that taps into one of the two 12v batteries in a 24v system seems to mess with the charge rate in that the most fully charged battery signals the regulator that enough is enough and pretty soon you've got an unbalanced set of batteries. Uncle has seen around the problem and though...
RE: Idea
Think of that big u-shaped piece as paired corner braces. The cab gets a lot of it's support from them and without them the doors would be hard to close/hard to keep closed, depending on which way the cab was flexing.
If those guys can't lift their foot over the lip, how do they ever...
RE: 8x8 for Ron
Awright youse guys. Why do I feel that pretty soon the baby HEMTT is going to have big brothers to contend with?
We've got a PLS in town. 10X10 with 1st, 2nd and 5th axles steering. These things are getting big enough to need a name on the stern and signal flags.
I think somebody IDed one like it as a specialty towbar for a trailer/dolly(?). Looks almost aircraft application with only one leg and the cross-pin lock-up. Not sure I'd trust it to tow a vehicle unless there's a lot more pieces and parts not shown.
Looked around and haven't had any luck so I'm putting out a call.
Looking for a deuce troop strap; or can make do with a junker for the pair of snap ends and slide adjuster and I'll stitch up my own strap. Anyone got an extra they're willing to part with?
RE: Thanks guys
I need to clarify (at least in my own mind) the use of the term "rubbing". With radials, mounted too close together, the sidewalls may contact each other at the bottom but since both wheels turn together the sidewalls more bump into each other than rub. Take two inflated...
Personally, I've only had limited dealings with Tom but all have been positive. I find he's knowledgable and glad to talk and answer questions; both before and after a sale. Don't know how far away you are but if possible, pay him a visit, get to meet him and see what he currently has in the...
Am I wrong or is a basic premise of all Darwin Award guidelines being overlooked? Shouldn't some little warning, fatherly advice or disclaimer be inserted here?
CUTTING AND WELDING ON EX-FUEL TANKS; and the associated perils thereof.
Clinto, if you get a chance to wrangle a ride in one, take it!! but be sure that both side windows are open 'cause you'll have a grin so wide you won't be able to close the doors. We went down and I got a ride in a PLS... THEM IS NEAT! Big but amazingly agile with the one, two and fifth axles...
Jason, the only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked.
Bill was looking forward to a ride in it soon and the only way I could make that happen right now is for me to put on a harness with a pintle hook attachment on it and drag the baby HEMTT and riders around by myself. Expression...
