Did a parade for the saint charles VFW vets today the close to a busy weekend chicago saturday a rainout yesterday and this one today. I drove back home and passed the house enjoying the truck so much I drove through several neighboring towns just enjoying the drive.

Heat the hinge with a torch and work them out thats how I got mine out. If you go hitting them too hard useing a punch you will move the hinge then the door will not open and close properly.
Its a spring there is one on each side to assist lowering and raising the gate. They run along the bottom of the gate they twist and build tension as you lower the gate.
The captured nut will stay in place but work it out very slowly and hit the threads with PB blaster turn it back in and back it off some more keep lubing it up. Take your time because if you twist the captured nut in its pocket by forcing the striker bolt out to fast you will be SOL.

The rustoleum camo paint flat black is OK but the spray nozzle sucks if you just use the rustoleum flat black in the white can the nozzle is much better it will put on a much more even coat.
