    HMMWV Doors/ Tops

Welcome to the forum!! Unfortunately "cheap+HMMWV" is an oxymoron, you can figure on $1000+ per door but I am sure you will get some good suggestions on this forum!

New guy in NC, M1123 needs some love

I would certainly look for a good takeout GEP engine before I would pony up the big bucks for a Melton which could very well be just a rebuilt GM engine.

New guy in NC, M1123 needs some love

YES and that tube with the arrow goes DIRECTLY into the intake, some water, nut, washer, just about anything will trash the engine.

    Db2 injector pump electrical connectors

I do not see anything wrong with the picture you posted.. If you are talking about the boots they should have been replaced by the rebuilder if they were bad, they likely would not be "regular" Packard boots but you may be able to cut regular boots down to fit. Just be very careful when removing...

Another pic of the CDR valve, the arrow points to where the hose leads into the intake manifold.

This is the best picture I could find right away of the CDR valve, it is the part marked Jan 2014. The hose you can see connected to it goes to the oil fill pipe, the one directly under it that you cannot see goes straight into the intake.

One thing before going any farther have you checked to see if the CDR valve was removed? It bolts on top of the right valve cover and if it has been removed you have a direct hole into the intake, ANYTHING gets in there you will be buying a new engine. Another thing, as I said to begin with...

    400a to 200a conversion

According to your drawing you will need a longer bolt than the 400A had yes?

    80mph speedometer

I use 3 3/8" (85mm) GPS speedos in both my HMMWVs, 80MPH in the 6.5L turbo/6L80 and 120MPH in the 6.6L. They are very accurate as compared to my Nuvi Kinda cool watching them climb to around 18MPH while sitting still on the deck of a ferry

foaming power steering fluid and hard to steer

If there is air entrained in the PS fluid it will continue to flow around in the system, you can "bleed" the system all you want it will make noise until it works the air out itself. What I do if it has fluid, if it steers and brakes OK and it is not running out on the ground I just drive it and...

AM GENERAL Reservoir / Filter, Power Steering Pump_2530014886147

The higher pressure pump and the remote reservoir came on the engine, so basically it was already installed I had to make all custom hoses anyway because that truck has a 12K hydraulic winch up front

AM GENERAL Reservoir / Filter, Power Steering Pump_2530014886147

I installed a turbo GEP from an ECV, it had the higher pressure steering pump and reservoir into a M998, I did not notice any difference in steering. So IMHO it would not be worth the time and money, they are not supposed to be as easy to steer as a ford focus

foaming power steering fluid and hard to steer

There are two common sources of PS noise, one is air which will dissipate on it own over time and the other is the cadillac valve that controls the fan, if that is causing the noise it should change when the fan kicks in, you can check that by unplugging the wires to that valve which will turn...

You can crawl under it with a 1" open end wrench and you can see where you can grab the flat spots right behind the pulley. Only turn it in the normal direction, clockwise looking at the front of the engine.

New guy in NC, M1123 needs some love

I agree with royg that 400A is too big and problematic, for many that is the first thing that they replace with a 200A and not worth investing any more money or labor. If it were me I would check to see if it was stuck, if not check all the fluids, change the oil/filter, fuel filter, check fuel...

No I did not, it does not matter. Why get upset about something you can do absolutely nothing about?

    Problems after changing fuel pump

Well then my best guess is you have a leak on the suction side of the pump.

It is what it is, you know this going in.

    Problems after changing fuel pump

Did you remove the plate behind the fuel pump and use grease to hold the pump rod up while you installed the pump? If not it is possible you sheared off the pump rod, the IP has a pump in it and can run without the help of the mechanical pump, but not well.
