Its nice to have spare parts on hand especially since the OEM stuff if going to dry up leaving aftermarket junk to take its place. Now that its relatively cheap and I for one do not like supporting china.I guess its like having money in the bank an anology my wife cant quite understand.
I might understand if we were talking about trucks as gunboy1656 stated letting someone else do the homework but its just parts every lot identical high bidder # usually means new guy.
Why is it nowdays there can be over thirty identical lots and some dope bids against you on one of two lots you bid on with fifteen more not even having the first bid placed on it yet? Are some people just that dense or is the autobid feature just working overtime its no wonder prices are so...
Yes that is a problem buying from LMC I always search out OEM parts twice the price but Im not going to support china and not to mention the aggravation trying to use parts that dont fit.
If your useing new door gaskets it will take a while to compress shutting the door requires keeping your hand on the handle pushing it shut eliminating the bounce that keeps it from latching.
A while back I bought a 1963 studebaker-packard deuce in SC which Adam who was a great help retrieved off the base for me. Joe (housemover) drove down from WV to Adams and drove it back to WV and laid over for a day then drove it here for me fourty miles west of chicago. I had sold a deuce to a...
A word of warning GL does not accomodate its customers the crews running the loadout sites for the most part are really good but corporate does things that make things easier for them not the customer.
Good buy now you have a wealth of spare parts most can probably be sold here in the classifieds. If they were closer to me I would have put a bid on them but shipping is a deal killer.
They got a bad name because they were put into trucks that were too heavy and driver abuse or ignorance put an early end to them. I had one in a 77 six wheeler it ran great never had a problem with it but I took the time to educate myself on the dos and donts when operating them.
The trans is a brand new 6453 it is for the 809 series trucks it was new in the can when I bought it. I used it because the turbocharged cat puts out 250 HP I didnt think the deuce trans would hold together. Theres a build thread on it here somewhere putting a 3208 in a bobbed deuce.
When I put the spicer 6453 in my bobbed deuce I made an adapter plate that bolted a jack shaft from a five ton truck to the stock deuce transfer case. The five ton jackshaft is shorter than the stock deuce jackshaft so I didnt end up moving the transfer case back the automatic was 32 inches long...
If it is the solenoid thats bad check the difference in price between what they list as a GP relay and a solenoid used for snow plows as long as the plow solenoid has the two small pins instead of one small pin you can use that instead I did saving a bit of cash.
Length might be a problem I put a trans from a five ton in my bobbed deuce and the trans from the deuce was considerably shorter than the five ton manual. But I believe the allison being a bit longer than a stock deuce trans might work in your favor.
You are not getting any power to the solenoid you might check by testing for power at the two small pins they should both have power when the key is on. A lot of time the solenoid will energize you will hear it but not send power out check by testing the bottom large pin with the orange wires on...
I had to replace my driveshaft in my 1008 it had a bad vibration at higher speeds. When I took it off there was a tiny ding in it from the forklift thats all it takes to ruin it I couldnt believe thats all it takes to throw them out of phase. I put the new one in and it drives down the road like...
