I went through this selling a non-title 83 gmc to a guy in NC, it was a nightmare. If you think it’ll greatly increase value, do a Vermont title (you don’t have to live there as long as they haven’t closed this loop hole) register it, recurve title in the mail, then go to your local DMV to...
Just dug through that manual and towing capacity isn’t mentioned. However I can say, my MK23 cargo truck has a data plate for 20,000 towed glued to the door however i believe verbiage may not be detailed enough. The pintle is reinforced much better than a M939 series truck, and I’ve personally...
No. Simply won’t happen, I fought a battle years ago and lost. File the sf97 in your records at your house, and simply go register the rig with a bill of sale filled out correctly, it’ll be issued a non-title registration
Edit for clarification: anything older than 1985 in georgia does not...

I’m hoping one day to have it ready for recovery. Talk about slow! I was able to run 65 if i wanted towing her home even in the hills, but decided 55 was best

As expected, the spin on fuel filter offered an excellent fight but it had to go; i was experiencing a strange issue where the Genset used to run a few hours trouble free under a load but when I ran it the other day for an hour and walked away it shut down on an oil pressure fault. Weird, so i...

Do you know where to source one of these upper well nuts? Mine is falling apart and leaks when the generator is rocked during transport. Is there a “bulletproof” one? I remember some folks have great luck with bulkhead fittings on the lower well nut

Wow, time flies and grief is a major hinderance to progress; I decided after procrastinating several months to get out there and swap the failed fuel sender with a Kus unit and also change the return lines. I’ll wrap up tomorrow hopefully

I dealt with temporary insanity due to ground issues on my M1123, burned out multiple sets of headlights in seconds, gauge problems, starting problems (glow plugs) etc etc all solved with a supplemental ground harness

We’ll be inbound Wednesday. If ANYONE needs recovery I’ll have my tow bar, air line jumpers, tools and feet to fit anything from a Jeep to a Hemtt/PLS so if anyone needs a tow in I’ve got you covered! I can travel wherever

I’ll start by saying there’s a 95% change you’re sucking air. I come from 7.3 and 6.9 idi trucks and they are notorious for failing fuel return lines allowing air in after shutoff, will run fine and never drop and fuel but lord help the next day it don’t want to fire off until you’ve nearly...
Started off last weekend, truck wouldn’t quite run right with the fuel shutoff sticking and truck revving without control, we removed the shutoff cover and sprayed it with PBLASTER working it until it would return on its own freely, and poured half a quart of atf and Howes diesel defender in the...
Recovered my a wrecker yesterday from Patracy, and if all goes well going to fix a few issues, attempt to convert to air brakes with my donor M925, and see if a little wallet molestation can breath new life into a classic.
Here’s to my M543A2!
