on a 1028 what is the better way to get to the sock?
1) pull the tank
2) remove the bed
on many other trucks I have worked on to get access into the tank it is easy to just pull the bed and others it is pull the tank?
Whats the quickest for the cucv?
all the parts but one are standard, the 14 pin chip I have not been able to find anything on it, It does controll everything in the system, I have come to the conclusion it is a "one off" from motorolla. I have not been able to find anything even at motorolla on the chip. It appears to be a...
then I would start pulling the injectors. you should be able to find a place that can check them under pressure, I dont remember what the compression should be. I dont have access to my tech manual atm but its not to hard to find in it. If you have not done so download it. you can find them on...
converted to 12 volts is a big reason why your haveing this issue. you would have been far better to have used a 24v glow plugs and bypassed the resistors. How cold is it getting to when your seeing no start issues
could be the injectors but also could be compression. pull the injectors and check them out, and while there out check the compression on each cylinder.
One other thing if you have not cleaned all your conections this would be the time to do so from batts to buss bars to resistors to gp relay...
Iv lost a bro in a simaler wreck . he wasnt wearing his belt and was tossed out. truck rolled on him. Glad to see you made it out only a little banged up.
But it would be cheeper to get another and take the 2 and make a good one.
when my batts are fully charged my gen 1 light does not come on at all; but if its drained a little it will . I just dont worry about it if your volt gauge is chargeing at the tick mark in the green , your ok.
My mount was a little different it wasnt too quick or easy but gives better clearance.
I still have to take all of it off and finish some welding and add a few pieces to reinforce some locations and add some paint. I think Ill use green:-D
your chattering relay most likely is not your card. With your card in and truck running and when the relay is chattering measure the voltage at the pos and neg of the front batt and then on the back batt. If one or both are less than 14 volts that's why you relay is chattering. One alt could be...
