Re: RE: Deuce Idle RPM?
I have a surging idle now... but it's only occasional. It'll be a significant bounce when it does do it though; about 100-200rpms. Other times it will idle just fine, the only connection I can make is that it does it after running for a long time then I drop to idle...
I want to twin stack my truck and run the NAPA mufflers. With the non-turbo engine, will it suffer if I put a larger exhaust on it? I plan on upgrading to a turbo in the future, so if it's not a huge difference, I'll take the loss on it now so I won't have to do the exhaust again in the future...
Re: RE: First Deuce!!!
I've been doing that too, asking questions that have been beat to death. I have lousy search skills and can't get the right results to come up. I'm working on that though
Everyone here has been really great. Even taking that extra minute to repeat answers...
If it's rerouted to the rear, even a straight pipe would be quieter inside the cab. It's just a matter of moving where the noise exits... and by the duals is alot farther away that 3' from your face, lol. I like the intake mod as well, that was the first thing I want to do to my truck. I'll...
Nice looking truck... if it started up and runs fine, you shouldh't have any problems. The only thing that troubled me in my recent drive home w/ my first truck was the belts. The PO had put on the wrong belts and they snapped on my drive home... about 50 miles into a 385 mile drive. Good luck!
Thanks, I had no idea on the clutch. After it started slipping, I pulled off again and stopped to see if I could visually diagnose anything. There was some sort of oil dripping out of the bell housing area. It was in dirt/gravel, so I couldn't get anything to smell/see it. I'm going to take...
Well, I just picked up the M35 that I won off of EBay. It's a 69 winch truck, troop bed w/ the non-turbo engine. I went down with some knowledge gathered from here and a buddy to drive it back 385 miles on a prayer, haha. I encountered some troubles along the way and need some input.
How bad...
I'm assuming the D turbo has a more efficient compressor wheel compared to the C, stock vs. stock. Will you always see more results from the D turbo after modifications or do they even out with each other w/ the same improvements? I don't know where the differences all lie, if the turbine is...
From my understanding, you don't actually gain horsepower from running water injection. It just lowers your EGT's so you can turn up fuel/boost to make more power. Someone who knows better than I can confirm or deny that.
I know I'm reviving a REALLY old thread here, but I'm looking for this information now and this was the only thread I could find. I'll be picking up my non-turbo deuce in the next couple of weeks. I want to get a whistler turbo put on it and at first I didn't know what would be involved...
Re: RE: Batteries
I want to have batteries when I arrive, I'm 99% sure I need them for the truck I'm picking up. How are the posts arranged on the military batteries?
Re: RE: 12.5 x 20s
I want to do the same thing, run the XL's for better offroad ability but keep the duals. I'd like to know how they work out in duals and if they fit.
Hummer does NOT equal HMMWV, most people don't know that though. I always refer to the H1's and military models as a Humvee and the new H2's as Hummers.
Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: My first Deuce...
What's the difference? I haven't gotten to that part in the manuals yet. Which manual has that in it so I make sure I have the right one?
What can I expect to find or deal with in a truck that's been sitting for approximately 2 years? I have the list...
If you don't have a license plate or transportation tags, I think I agree with FMJ. It'd just be best to have current insurance and be honest, "I just bought the truck, I have current insurance and I'm on my way home."
