Hey dman, nice work,
ready for some thought?
not to pick any fights but i like talking about "theory". I understand your frame cutting theory and understand that is what some schools teach BUT i look at it a little differntly. I look at it like a bridge Now think of the top, bottom and sides...
The ouverson is really just a copy of the detroit but MUCH better iron. Some one will come up with an air locker, I have been trying to get Randy Ouverson to do it but i dont think he wants to put a bunch of effort into it if ARB gets into the game.
I too agree with what he said but now compare trucks to trucks and not cars to trucks. That like saying a new dodge cummins is no good becase my corvtte goes faster! take the m35 out and then go get an old twin screw strait truck and see how far you get. Compared to a conventional truck its like...
You are very right, they are big BUT BUT BUT the actual 5 speed portion is no bigger than what we already have. It just has two two speed spliters. if you take them off its not much bigger. About the size of 2 205 T-cases bolted on the back. 38 inches Front of bell to center of yoke. A 610 may...
I still like the more gear idea. Its making efficent use of the power you have. Heavy haul trucks dont just build HUGE motors. (well they do that too) Mainly they run 18 speeds with 2 speed axles. Thats a gear for every day of the month, grant it some over lap. Its like adding more turbo or...
Once again ol' and wise CT is right!!
I meant the little ones that hold the rings on the inside, where his name is machined. The big ones are coated to look like.
Dont forget about wear and tear on the front axle!
My guess would be the more stop and go you do the more the hubs will help you...
they do stick right out, i am going to contact randy and see if he can get me some in OD green rather than black. Probably have to take a bunch but i think we can move them. Now just think. If you bought a set for the rear-rear axle and put a remco drive shat disconect on there how much milage...
Ok I got my shipment of lock-outs and had to put them on and post some pic's. (after spending this much i gotta do something, i cant drive it yet).
I would say this has to be getting close to a heck of a test. 53" tires and a B-cummins with lots of weight (longer wheel base and double the cab...
Yup, like he said the cast are just as strong and the only way to get billet is have randy do a special run. 750 a set. I just bought five sets of cast and have been selling them. Got one set left if any one is interested we can make a deal. I belive i had a post some time ago offering to group...
Yikes, this sounds deadly, no to change the subject again but has anyone heard of rockwell pinion bearing problems at high speed from lack of oil? Do you guys think that maybe synthetic oil would help?
dang Your going to have a lot of weight on that front axle if CT is at 7350. I realy wana see his scale ticket. so would it be fair to say the crane added around 7000 to Bjorn's truck? If a stock truck weights around 14K and he's at 21k? I kinda want one of these but the weight is a big thing...
are you lookin to use it with the dolly or just get it home? Im sure it will work, im not sure how big the trailer is but it could be heavier than the truck (not a good deal with a dolly i wouldnt think)
Yes you can back it up, i have seen heavy haul guys back up with a "jeep" which it a dolly...
Allright...your hands are quicker than my eyes!! I swear that wasnt there when i posted mine. well a 3406 is 893 and a 3408 uses the same sleaves/piston/rod combo so its uhhh.....1190 inches. if my calgulations are right. The only better motor IMHO is the K model cummins 1150 CI but strait six...
