If you have what I think you have it is the tach that was used on the ambulance models. Most of those wires are not needed to be used to make the tach work. I think they went back into the ambulance body for some reason. If you open up the box and look at the back of the tach, you should be able...
You might be able to get it to work. I had an early HMMWV tach and I sold it to a guy who used the steice engine rpm thingie to run it. You might have to hook it up as a four cylinder or an eight cylinder to make it read correctly.
The fuel lift pump may be bad is loosing it's siphon and letting the fuel drain back towards the fuel tank. It is a pain to change, but on an older vehicle it is good to do it so you can get rid of the potential for a common and pesky problem.
Temp sensor from the humvee on the front side of the left head, cold start advance sensor from the rear side of the right head. Pull the vacuum pump and install the oil pump drive from the HMMWV engine. The oil pan can stay. It should not interfere with the HMMWV exhaust and there is lots of...
You are talking about the "tub" number Steve. It is a number that is put on the body tub to keep track of it, but when things like that are assembled they don't always go immediatly to the production line. They can be used in a different order than they were assembeled, because they can...
You pretty much have most everything there, including a complete humvee. You need to get a pintle mount and the pintle riser, then you can install a gun cradle or a gun shield and then a cradle. The pintle mount will attach directly atop your weapons tray on the long raised mounting area that...
The old style and the reverse rotation water pumps as used on serpentine belt engines are shaped differently so the plate that they bolt too have matching holes for the style of pump that they work with.
A guy that was in the USAF told me that when they would park them, they would keep them far away from other vehicles, because they could start wiggling side to side and beat themselves and whatever was near them up. It shure sounded weird to me, but how could someone make up a story like that...
Even though the switch is protected by the boot that covers the bottom side of the shifter assy, muck and water gets in there and gunks things up. It's a horrible job, because the boot is pinched between the top of the trans tunnel and the bottom of the shifter plate so you need to remove the...
OK, but the United Defense Humvees were sold at public auction to common citizens which was not the usual thing for Humvees at that time. The Fed could have stopped it if it was not allowed. When I was at the Riverside auction the word was that there was an act of Congress that allowed United...
Yup, No end use restrictions on the United Defense Humvees and not sold through normal surplus channels so the normal rules don't seem to apply to these.
This August I'll have had mine for thirteen years! I had to keep it up at my mom and dads place for a year, because my garage door here in the city was less than 7" wide. Luckily I had room to widen it and found a place that saved old beams from houses and buildings that were being torn down. I...
You need to put 24 volts to the forward of the two wire connections on the top of the Injector Pump. That will allow fuel to flow into the IP. Then ground to the block and power to the starter lug and the solenoid as well. The solenoid will be temporary until the engine starts ten you don't want...
I recently installed the return hoses on my humvee. I had saved the original hoses to the vehicle and found that they are still making the exact same hose. The size is 3/8" 9.5mm which you probably already know, but the spec is J189. It is made by Goodyear. It has two layers of nylon webbing and...
You can win a war with lesser quality equipment if you have more of it than the guys with the better stuff. You wear them down at the expense of your own people.
