I am betting you had the pin that connects the pedal to the linkage from the bell housing fall out.
I replaced the indexed pin on my deuce with a 1/2 inch bolt and nylon stop nut. I saw that as a problem waiting to happen.

brakes and more fluid.
If I were going to use the original cap as an adapter for an external resevoir, I would do whatever it took to make the fluid move through it quickly. You may even consider drilling out the cap and tapping it for a larger pipe size, such as 1/4". (Take it off first of...
When you operate the pedal the piston in the master cylinder moves forward. There is a small "vent" hole ahead of the piston that allows the last of the fluid pressure to return to the master when you release the brakes. I believe this is the fluid you are seeing bubble up when you push the...
The lift pump in the tank pushes the fuel to a pump AHEAD of the Injector pump. If there is a leak in the line between the in tank pump ane the second fuel pump, you can get air accumulation and also a leak when you shut the truck off. If it were leaking fuel while it was running you would...
The outer bearing may be bad, but I would bet the axle is scored and that is the source of your vibration. This is one of those which came first, the chicken or the egg. The leaking seal probably allowed the bearing to run dry at the worst possible time.
The ten bolt requires you to pull the...
The NSN number was issued in 1962 and a general description is as follows:
AN ITEM CONFORMING TO THE DEFINITION OF WIRING HARNESS WITH BRANCHES (FORKS). SEE ALSO CABLE ASSEMBLY, SPECIAL PURPOSE, ELECTRICAL, BRANCHED, EXCLUDES LEAD ASSEMBLY, ELECTRICAL; AND LEAD, TEST.

I was going to point out that the new wheel cylinders I got and installed had new blocks with them. I went out to look for them and apparently I tossed them, never thinking someone would need them.
The brand of Wheel Cylinders I got were "STAR". I know this is not helpful in that I am not...
I would bleed the air out of the airpack before bleeding the truck. There is a bleeder on the air pack.
You can get an air pocket that will stop the movement of brake fluid through the system. The master does not move enough brake fluid to fill the airpack in one push.
Leaking out of the...
Those sticks were made out of Unubtanium the most rare, heaviest and dense material known to the universe. You noticed the steel plates under the tires to keep the truck from sinking out of sight...Careful man, you are going to get an overload ticket!!!!!!!
(Tongue fiurmly placed in...
Sounds great that you got the whole project done for 60$. In the future I would recommend sanding the rotors with medium fine sand paper to just knock any glazing that in on them off. This only takes a few minutes to do and ensures the pads seat well and quickly for that matter.

The light system is 12 volt so the 24/12 volt issue is a non-Issue.
It would appear that you have a short to ground on your turn signal system. When the flasher circuit encounters a short, the flasher stays on, or off depending on the type of flasher. Being stuck is the...
I you have located the air pack, its the large device with what is called a "J" pipe connecting the end to the control body. you will notice that there is a hydraulic line connecting the master cylinder to the air pack and a hydraulic line running from the air pack to the truck. There is also...
I would find the appropriate fitting to install a rubber hose and run that up and inside then body of the truck. You can put a t in the top, or simply make a loop so the open end is down. All the small fitting in the top of the master does is allow air in and out. You can find vent tips that...
If you can find a "speedi-Sleeve" that is the correct size for that seal, or the combination of the slightly oversized seal and speedi-sleeve you can use the sleeve to provide a smooth area for the seal to ride on.
Speedi-Sleeves are made for a lot of sizes and are from Chicago Rawhide/Federal...
Quite obviously, it can be replaced fairly easily at home.
I was simply pointing out that the spindle on a truck is not some special super duper high tech alloy material and that some tinkering is allowable if done in a professional manner.
Now a spindle for a fighter jet, race car, or other...
Years ago, the company I was working in had a big truck roast a rear spindle a long long way frm the shop and any other shop for that matter.
The company that had just done a rear brake job took responsibility. Who knows what happened, but the bearings were toast, the races disintegrated and...
I would use a test for exhaust contamination in the coolant. It is possible that the combustion gases are seeping into the coolant passages on the compression/combustion stroke and when the radiator is closed it builds up and displaces the coolant out the passages in the block and the radiator...
brakes heating up
The possibility exists that your opposite rear wheel cylinder is not doing much if anything and the side that gets hot is the only one working. For what little the wheel cylinders cost, I would not spare that expense if there is any question about their integrity.
It was...
possibly an easier way to activate the towed trucks brakes
I think if you put a valve on the vent side of the airpack outlet of the towed truck between the outlet of the air pack and the tee where the master cylinder is tied into it, you can connect the air for the service brake application to...
