I think that the largest contributor to the noise level in the cab of a deuce is the distance from the outlet to the place where you are measuring the sound level. I used the "bullet" muffler approach and did not trim my upper stack at all when I put that together. This raised the outlet at...
I went camping last weekend in the Adirondacks and was a blood sacrifice to the mousquitos that inhabit that region. Although the locals said the black fies were not bad, (No-See-Ums) I got bit in more places than I would like to think about.
The downside of your suggestion Westex is that...
I am assuming you have a tank on your new pump. If you can verify the thread on the new pump is 3/8 coarse in the boss, I have a few odds and ends of Chevy bolts and pieces. I can mail out a bolt that ought to work. I do need to know what thread and how deep the threaded boss is. If you are...
Are you using tubing wrenches? These are wrenches that are designed to go around all but two sides of a fitting. They put a lot more torque on the offending fitting and help to loosen them wihout rounding the hex on the fitting.
Additionally, if you have the old pump off the truck, you can...
I appreciate the follow up on this. I have replaced the pin that was in my linkage with a bolt and nylock nut. I did not overtighten the bolt however. I have been to that dance before and did not like how it ended up, although never as drastically as it did for you.
Then again, 105 degrees...
Here are the part numbers that the NSN refers to:
SPFA-5RPP
11602160
7005
7014-05
Any of these part numbers refer to a part that will meet the requirements of the NSN number. Maybe having more options will help...
I found the switch you need. It is on Saturn/s site. Here is the link to the...
I have had a repeating problem with page size as it draws on my desktop. Some threads come up to fit my desktop settings and some come up in a differnt scale. The problem is that when I am typing a post sometimes the window where I type is off the side of my screen and I cannot see what I am...
When you crawl under the truck to install the jumper, you will either see the switch on the end of the slave cylinder assembly portion of the Air Pack, or else it will be on the side towards the frame of the same assembly.
The hydraulic on is on the end and is activated by pressure in the...
I have a deuce with an S280 in the bed. From what I can see, you have a petty good looking winch deuce with a shelter that has more volume than an S280 inside, but if it is not insulated will be very uncomfortable in any but moderate weather conditions.
I had an option to swap for a shop...
You can purchase new fenders for about $100 a piece aftermarket and they are pretty accurate and good quality. A couple of the bolts are a pain to get to, but not impossible.
Just my two cents

I put Optima Yellows in my deuce. They are very resistant to vibration damage.
I used high density foam to help take up the space that these do not take up like the Original batteries do.
Deuce's don't Vibrate do they??????

Standard starting procedure calls for a short spin of the engine with the fuel shutoff pullled out before actually attempting to start the engine.
This was the topic of a couple of a couple of threads in the forum, and also a PS magazine article in the resources part of the site. By turning...
I am curious as to the tolerances of this? I would imagine there is a maximum of what is allowable. I sure would try to polish it up and see if it will work. At this point, you have too many others watching your project with this post.

Fuel vairies depending on which motor you have and how you drive. I get between 6 and 8 MPG depending on the terrain. My deuce has the 5 ton motor and uses a bit more fuel, but the flip side is I do not downshift much and run 52 pretty much all the time on highway.
Tires can be had for...
Yes, I am sorry not to include that in the additional replacement part numbers.
The NSN numbers are the parts listing for a specific applicatrion and there can be several individual part numbers that meet the spec of the NSN number.
In looking up the NSN's you provided I got the parts...
The NSN 2530-00-274-4511 r and the 7411010 are the same part.
2530-00-040-2188 and 12368255 and 8345003 are all the same part and built to the same spec.
Buehler???? Buehler?????
