OH, somemedic, on my first post I was at work and talking to someone while I was typing and forgot to mention that I removed the fuel line fitting from the pump, before I broke out the glass plunger. You probably figured this out though.
You can suck fuel from a Jerry can to see if the fuel in the tank is your problem, but be shure to run it long enough to get the fresh fuel to the injectors. I have the glass plunger that lives inside of the injector pump fuel returm fitting and had the same symptoms as you have. I broke the...
Those turn signal light sockets are prone to having a problem with the ground connection to the bulb. A sign of this is if when you turn on the head lights, the green arrow for the turn signal indicator on the dash will stay lit. Any auto parts store will have a replacement for this bulb socket...
It's the harder one to get to, but if you loosen the vacuum pump and rotate it towards the drivers side you can work fairly easily on the block off plate. Don't forget to tighten the pump after your finished.
There are two coolant block off plates that are at the rear of the engine. They are located where the coolant crossover attaches at the front of the engine on the cylinder heads, but at the rear. One is blocked off with a flat plate and gasket and the other has the glow plug temp sensor threaded...
Those were usen on civi Hummers to do just that, keep someone from accidently undoing them and hurting him/herself. I don't know why they were on a wheel that was from the military though. Perhaps that CTIS shield bracket is the reason. There weren't very many Humvees with CITS installed, before...
If this problem happend all of a sudden, it might be that the glass plunger that's located within the injector pump fuel return nipple ( the nipple at the top front of the injector pump, that gets return fuel from the injectors ) may be stuck and is causing your injector pump to go into full...
The correct bolts should be knurled where they come in contact with the holes in the starter that they pass through. This makes it a tight fit and a little more difficult to start the threads, but makes for a slop free installation. The dealer should be the best place to get these. I have heard...
The Goodyear tire as used on the HMMWV has been upgraded in the side wall area. THis has been the case since Jan 03. The Interco Super Swamper tire has been purchased on the unit level and has had problems. TACOM tested them in sizes Bias 36x12.5x16.5 Part number SAM 65, Bias 38x12.5x16.5 Part...
Could you have a low fluid level in the transmission or could you have over filled it? It sounds like the pump in the transmission might be where your mystery sounds are coming from.
Disk brakes usually move more fluid than a drum brake wheel cylinder. That being said, I have converted my 98 Dodge Ram to rear disk brakes and it is using a caliper from an '90's caddy and it works well. The rear abs actuates from time to time, so I know it's working fairly well, but I was...
I know someone that has one and it works fine. It had "NO Shim" cast into the nose piece, so he diden't use any shim and it has worked well for about a year.
Because you have shown them that it is a vehicle purchased from the Federal Govt.they want to see the SF97. There is a Federal Statute or Law that states something to the effect that a State can't issue a new title to a former Fed vehicle unless the SF97 is present. Silly me, I diden't note the...
