IMO, gravity shouldn't even be a factor because the aux pump sucks fuel from the bulk source. If you have the fuel bung adapter, simply put it in the bung on top of your tank,. Plumb it with a pickup pipe to a few inches off the tank bottom and run hose from tank to aux. I replaced the...
Keith,
I have spent hours doing what you suggest. I can't get the droop adjusted. That is why I'm going to replace the spring and start all over again.
When you combine length of throttle rod (which I've toyed with and the other cable variables and the droop adjustment, I'm obviously way out...
Bob,
When I open the breaker, removing the steady 5kw load, the engine pegs at highest possible rpms. when stabilized running 5kw load and a bit more (1500 watts) is added, engine bogs and rpms peg at the frequency downside 55 cycles on the meter.

If you can remove the suspect glow plugs, test with multimeter to ensure no OL and resistance about 5-6. if wild resistance or OL, plugs are bad. I have a few.
Actually, I think you can do same test between a disconnected plug and the block without removing it.

Speddmon,
Without intention to hijack and in support of OP, I have a similar problem with one 002a.
I have 2 now working perfectly at my home, but one at my store is frustrating as the devil. Any adjustment for load stability leads to racing when load is removed and if load (5kw heater...
Missing bolts and unlocked latches will cause rattles. Aft is opposite of where you are standing. I'm assuming you are standing at the control box, so if you are missing bolts on fan end, yes a lot of rattling. They are 1/4 and 5/16" common threads.

OP and I spoke via phone yesterday. No oil getting to the filter canister at all. Totally strange to me.
He had not yet pulled the shroud, I suggested that he check the oil cooler. I wasn't at home (still not) and couldn't remember whether the oil flow route was from cooler to filter...
to ask about the direction the check needs to be installed. Since the line in question appears to be a supply hose (coming off the 3rd filter), my assumption is that the check needs to be installed to allow fuel flow to the IP.
That is correct.

An 002a runs everything we really need in a big house with propane heat, H20 and cook-top, including necessary lights, TV, computers, refrigeration and well pump. As Ike says, it only involves minimal power management and it only sucks 1/2 gallon per hour at load.
