The scoop was designed by a friend of mine. Or at least a design like it. The scoop really helps keep the vehicle engine cool during summer runs in the desert. While im not a fan of how they look (scoops) they do perform better than without them. Now I see it performs better in the cold as...
LOVE your builds! I thought about the swampers but went with the HMMWV 12 bolts instead. I too have a 4" lift on my M1028. Looks just about perfect. Nice builds.
I am currently doing a search for Low Coolant Level Light. I found this and it does answer some of my questions. How any of you had this problem? Its not discussed very much. I searched the TMs but really no help there. The problem I am having is the light keeps coming on now all the time...
That depends. IF you have alot of gunk/crud on the bottom of your transmission pan a coolant flush could distribute all that gunk inside your transmission. NOT GOOD. If your pan is clean then a transmission flush is a good thing. It gets all of the old fluid out (torque convertor as well)...
I had the engine oil change and the transmissioned flushed at Oil Can Henrys. They got oil all over the side and front of my truck. BUT at least the transfluid inside the entire transmission has been flushed out. The transmission has always shifted great after I fixed the leaky vacuum lines...
Sorry to hear that Twomorestrokes. I do not know how much money one could save off each individual piece. As far as dealing with Steve and his wife I have no idea who I dealt with. The lady who answered the phone always knew who I was and had my vehicle info in the computer and always sent me...
Sure you could get every individual part (or simular) a bit cheaper somewhere else but you can get EVERYTHING from one source at Off Road Designs. Ipretty much ordered individual items after I ordered the 4" kit. Items like the sway bar disconnect I believe are pretty much OFD products as well...
I have not seen a need to re center either axle. Everything works just fine as is from ORD. I will take a picture in the morning and post sometime when I get back in later. My truck is now unloaded as I just dumped about 2k in 3/4" rock on my remote driveway. I just remounted my spare in the...
I have ZERO driveline vibrations with the 4" ORD lift. My drive shafts did not need any lengthening either. If you go with the tuff country shocks then the right rear rear shock mount will need to be raised a bit so the body clears the axle tube. The rear axle basically rotates back with the...
Future plans include either a built up 700R4 or 4L80E either one will be from PATC transmissions out of Louisiana. They build some of the best transmissions out there. I like the 700R4 for its lower first gear 3.06 and its .70 over drive. The 4L80E is built tough through and through but have...
I do plan to do the cross over steering but not until I rebuild both axles with OX lockers and 3.73 gears not to mention all new bearings, chromoly axles and 35 spline stub shafts and new king pins. Im also thinking the new YUKON selectable hubs.
Finally had a bit of time off and back home to get the Swaybar correction and disconnect kit installed (three weeks ago). I also ordered a new steering stabilizer and bump stops to round off the suspension build. Total time to install the sway bar disconnect/correction kit was about 30 minutes...
