    buying a 5 ton Wrecker

If you are looking at a wrecker with the gas motor, such as a M62 or M543, the 5k price may be a good or not so good price depending on condition. The M62/M543 could also have mack or multi diesels, which are worth more. There was a nice gasser for 4500 in the classfieds.

    Wrecker motor swap

I dont think I have ever worked harder than the last 4 days. Thrusday got the pole barn cleaned out, lights up, heat, and power ran. Next two days was the wrecker motor swap. Sunday got Doghead packed up and blue dump bed on gimpy's trailer. Monday scrapped out the blue truck and packed up...

    Wrecker motor swap

Speddmon dropped off some lights, cords, and lane's M60 tank engine hoist frames yesterday about 1pm. Gimpy, doghead, and Bgekky arrived about 3 yesterday. Got the pole barn cleaned out, shoveled some snow out of the way, and the doors closed. Electric, lights, and heat are on. Still need to...

    In cab heater install, M35/M108

Just in time for the cold, I installed a heater in the M108. Would be the same for any M35 truck. The heater box at first glance looks like a standard M35 heater. But the output side is a 6 inch hole instead of 4 in, and the heater core is a 6 core heater that fills the box much more than a...

    Wrecker motor swap

Should warn everyone to bring food, cupboards are bare(wife is dieting)... and sleeping arrangements will be sacking out on the floor in the house. Exhaust hose is so the M108 can run inside the barn. Dennis

    Deuce Defroster Hose

I'm using 3in corragated aluminum dryer hose, it's 9 bucks for 8 feet at lowes. It's stiff and bendable, so retains it's shape.

    Wrecker motor swap

Exhaust hose. Eric and tom are the ones with the heaters, I'm guessing diesel/kerosene. Wonder if they will run on transformer oil. Sure there is more I'm forgetting.. O, don't forget your transmission this time!

    Wrecker motor swap

I'll be off for a 3 day weekend. Hoping gimp can get plastic hung in the pole barn for heating, and get the vehicles rearranged so we have a work space. Need to run electric out and hang some lights. There is some wiring out there. Also need to plow the snow out and get the doors to move...

    strech 816 into 819?

other than running a pto, it would be easy to add a rear winch. fithwheel can be bolted all the way foward or backward to make room, or removed. M246 is the same bed as m819. Jyst an earlier version with the gasser or multifuel

    strech 816 into 819?

819 has a massive frame under it for the longer frame and fith wheel. it is not the same frame as 816. Anything can be done, but these two are completely different trucks.

how to video of M108 crane operation

1000-1200 in 4th gear works nice for most situations. Even when the truck was a gasser, 4th worked good. 5th would bog the engine some. For fun I've put it in 5th at 2200rpm. Crane flies, but pump will start caviting. Pump is a vane style, and needs to spin at some speed to build pressure...

how to video of M108 crane operation

If your befuddled, we are in deep doo-doo. I didn't mention outriggers, micro lock, or parking brake. Or proper rigging and hand signals. Geez, I'm an accident waiting to happen. On the rear deck, I didn't cut it, the previous owner did... I thought the box underneath was factory. The...
