    Axle Temps

M35 runs lukewarm at best. M108 will heat up in just 10 miles to hot, but not hot enough to burn, on just the rears. I would guess it's because of all the extra weight.

    FarmDeuce

The willys PTO can do both. Flat belt drive is a adapter for the standard PTO spline. I have one for my cj-2a, has the PTO out the rear, then PTO to the front for winch, with two shift levers. The old jeeps came with welders, generators, sickle bar mowers, ditchers, plows, and who knows what...

    Cranetruck tire bead breaker

Yep, I did the crane bead breaker trick. Still was a pain... I now have a air powered hydraulic bead breaker, did 18 tires and rims in 24 hours... and didn't break a sweat. Much better than my crane.

Air compressor Belt replacement on gas engine

Got a pic of the compressor? Is it water cooled? Water cooled compressor on a gasser 331 for a 2 1/2 ton truck is fun. According to the TM remove radiator. I did it without removing the radiator, but not much fun. Number one is to wear gloves when working next to the fan shroud and rad...

    Best WMO filter?

Best, would be motor driven centrifuge. Cheapest, would be reusable nylon sock filters. Start with 50 micron, and finish with 5-1 micron

Will a "C" turbo work on an LDS 465 1A engine?

I switched from a C to a D recently. There is more power, but you have to turn the fuel up to match the turbo change. C turbo was set to 1100 deg. max. When the D was installed, pyro read 1000 max, little cranking on the fuel had it back to 1100. It is quieter, and some more power than before.

    Turbo or non turbo??

Turbo is 3.5 inch exhaust. Non turbo is 2.5 inch Cummins in 5-tons are non-turbo, Multi's in 5-ton are turbo

    wieght limits for military tires

Side of the tires is stamped with load ratings, one for single use, and one for dual use. That is per tire. I thought 9-20's, in a dual setup were 24,000 lbs for the rear. 3,000 lbs per tire, times 8 tires. Think back of a stock deuce is 5-6000 lbs empty.

    tire mileage (lifespan)

I'm with cranetruck on this one. With single tires on tandem axles, and one axle shaft pulled in the rear to make only one driving axle, and good alignment, the fronts last twice as long as the rears on my truck. 11-20 ndt's. Speaking of which, I need some tires!

U6TL: Battery or Anti-personnel weapon? You decide...

I've got a set of civi batteries, came with the truck 5 years ago, and worked fine in the 0 degree weather. Even left the headlights on for 10 hours once, and the truck still started. Interstate had blemish batteries for 50 bucks, 800cca, yellow top on them. Used them in the other truck, seem...

Cleaning Up the Air Pack & Rebuild

brake hone. Same as rebuilding wheel cylinders. If your talking about the air side piston, then 400 grit sandpaper sounds good.

    Leaking many fluids!

You could do it without pulling the fender... but will be cussing up a storm. Have to pull the turn signal, to do that, take out the 4 bolts, then unwire it from the bottom. Fender is held on by 2 or 3 spring loaded bolts to the brace, one bolt near the frame and cab mount, 3 to the cab, and 2...

    Leaking many fluids!

There is a small hose behind there goes into the fitting on the bottom, from the back, out of sight. It runs up the engine block, about 8 inches, then into the motor. Lubes the injector pump. I would recommend pulling the fender to work on that booger.

    T-case question

silver thing have a knurled knob? Should be an oil sampling port, just twist when the engine is running and oil comes out. Transfer case hard to shift into neutral or high?
